"Ahhhhhhhhh!" It was a fine day to be out and about!
Other cats may have argued. For instance, there was Skinny on the fourth street down with the bald patches, and those funny wildcats who stalked about with bristling hackles, and even Cheese, who much preferred to stay under a blanket than play outside during the cold season. But Pretzel loved the outdoors! Ever since the big move, it'd been cooped up all autumn with nothing but The Game to occupy its attention.. not that The Game was ever a failure, in that regard. The only thing better than a good cat nap in the sun was a good Game! A good Game meant plenty of treats and cheery humans! But regardless- it'd come to miss its freedom to sprawl out beneath the sky on a passing whim. But little had they realized.. all that time in doors was finally paying off with the new and improved Catio! Who knew that while it'd been lazing the days away, the humans had been preparing such a wonderful gift?
That's how Pretzel found itself out on the deck in the start of winter, completely undeterred from playing even as wind whistled between the chainlink of its chamber. The heater plugged in from the wire running through the flap of the catdoor also helped! Cozied up by the blast of warm air, but free to gaze up at the migrating birds and cool, grey skies, it truly wondered to itself how things could get any better than this. In the corner of their eye, movement from beyond the catio caught their attention. A flash of beige fur amidst the browning landscape. "Hmmm.." Pretzel, who had been splayed out on their back, promptly rolled back to an upward orientation, crouching curiously to track the stride of another passing wildcat. Wasn't it awful cold out there, though? Silly strays and their silly pride! A wry grin twitching at their muzzle, the tabby called out to the cat in question- because the one thing that could make a good outing better was time spent with a friend, or a cat who was about to become one! "Hello! Hello, hello! Whatcha doin'?"

The tom's whiskers twitched.
As leaf-fall was coming to a slow end the breeze that usually plastered the air seemed to become colder by the day, though living amongst the forest and meadows for much a long time he had become used to the occasional harsh frostiness of the air, as with cold breeze came down the snow! Any day now. Khaz could feel the empty mindless thoughts he felt throughout the moons melt at the sight of the new terrain. It was refreshing to see such a lively place again, In a sense, anyway.
The tom had spent Moons wandering by clan territory, Khaz didn't feel particularly attached to his sisters, as often the idea of new possibilities enlightened him, but more recently he hadn't really been doing much. He had his fair share of clan-cats before, and something churning inside his heart deprived him of going there. Even so, her had realised he had never really spent any time in the two-leg place, only passing by it on his arrival.
The cream furred tomcat strolled down the path, his eyes gleaming in anticipation, he had merely payed attention to his surroundings as thoughts in his mind would often bubble him into a daze on days like this. Shaking away the remains of any thought he had, the tom lifted his gaze and took in a breath of air, his face warped into surprise for a moment as a scent caught his attention, then it quickly followed by the calling of undoubtably another feline.
Khaz picked up his paw-steps and poked his head around until his gaze met glance with the russet-colored feline. His eyes sparkled as he gestured his body towards them. "Hi!" he meowed loudly, as he neared towards the tom, he noticed the setting he was in. This feline was a kittypet! In Khaz' travels he hadn't really come across many kittypets, the thought of meeting one lifted his spirits. Though thinking about it, he wasn't very fond of two-legs and hadn't really come across them. Great! this was all the more exciting! Khaz paused a tail-length from the cat and turned his head curiously "Why are you outside?" Khaz didn't really know the ways of kittypets, other than the fact they resided with two-legs - which was strange in itself, but he never thought to question it.
(Apologies it's not much!)
