Leafbare was on its way.
Cosmo could feel it in the air, the way the winds nipped at his exposed nose with the frigid fangs of the north. Nothing at all like his homelands, the territories nearing the clangrounds were just off a mountain pass, from which the gusts blew cold and harsh down the craggy sides of the peaks. As brave and experienced an explorer as he was, the winter didn't suit him much, nor did the perpetual flurries of the high elevations. Rumor had it some strange cats lived up there, anyway, and as much as he loved an adventure, he valued his life a little more. At least for now, when there'd be no warmth to retreat to if he did muster up the courage to visit. For that reason, whenever he approached the area, he always came in from the sides, passing through twolegplaces like he'd known them since birth. There was nothing left to conquer, now, on the other side of the final street crossed. With eyes for the forest that rimmed the long stretch towards the Celestial valley, he padded on at his own pace, among the flaming canopies of autumn leaves dancing just overhead.
With everything burning so bright, and the crunch of accumulated litter beneath his paws, he almost didn't notice a kitten among the orange until he nearly stumbled over the poor thing.
"Yow!" With an exclamation bordering on exaggeration, he stuttered backwards just short of missing tripping onto the little cat, having felt the strange brush of kit fluff just before he'd stepped onwards. Eyes narrowing to emerald slits, his vision honed, finally separating the contours of another animal from the surrounding brightness. That, and the kit's tiny, button-like features stood out against the brush, dark eyes much easier to see now that Cosmo had noticed them. "Well, well, what's this?" Falling back a step so as not to frighten the young one, the speckled tom tilted his head nonchalantly, his initial surprise immediately giving way to his usual casual demeanor. "Biggest autumn leaf I've ever seen in my life. Furriest, too. Lost your tree, kid?"

First his paws are on solid ground, mud, moss and the small crumble of treaded twig, leaf and earth, digging in between the fur of his pads and itching at the skin ever-so-gently, not enough to pay attention to. And then suddenly there is a presence behind him. The small kit froze and is almost knocked down by a shove. Optimus froze his small limbs to the ground, his blazing orange fur fluffed in surprise. The sky was clear but cold, a pale, saturated colour of ice blue, a mist of veiled cloud wisped over it, he was stood in the middle of a treaded pathway in the middle of the overgrowth. Timmy had never really been into the woods before, everything was always bigger than he was, the woods was bigger than anywhere he had been, and there were no dogs here, the dogs scared Timmy. A light birdsong fluttered about the highest canopies on the forest, trees reached, stretched and intertwined overhead of the small orange kit, he was almost so small that his fur was bigger than he was. An orange fluff with legs. The small tom squealed inwardly as he felt another cat come crashing towards him, his fur spiked, and tail raised in surprise. he was busy mindlessly gazing up at the life surrounding the woodland, his eyes lit up in awe and amazement. short-lived? Optimus stumbled ever-so-slightly to the side before turning rapidly towards the feline, his eyebrows furrowed, and he hissed squeakily "Hey! what are you doing! " Optimus watched as the speckled tom adjusted himself, gazing up at him with small, glowing, deep blue kitten eyes, then he lowered his tail and collapsed himself into a sitting position. "Autumn Leaf?" Optimus tilted his head, "Well you're the smallest COW i have ever seen!" Optimus had seen a 'cow' before, back in the barn where his mother was, watching them curiously from between the haybales by the splintered and worn-out timber at the back of the two-leg structure. they were large creatures with broad haunches, Optimus had once mistaken them for a dog, as they had large dog like eyes and nose, their muzzle was long and downward. They were speckled, like this tom but they had a thin, almost naked pelt, and their speckles were big and patchy. They had long thin tails that lashed around in the air. Optimus also remembers a similar looking creature, they were almost the same, but they had muddily coloured shaggy pelts, and they had these odd thick, pointy claws sticking out from between their ears. As Optimus began to think about it, he began wondering what they were, most two-leg things were weird. Optimus remembered the two-leg that camped by the barn, it would come in with its dog and mother would leave. Though, he doesn't remember very much. "What are you doing here?" Optimus mewed, he had relaxed his small limbs and was wiggling his haunches and pouncing and tapping at the ground Infront of him. Note:

A cow.
Cosmo blinked, slow and steady. He'd been called a lot of things in his time, a lot of names, Cosmo being only one of them. He'd been a nuisance, a scoundrel, a flirt, a troublemaker, even a heathen toeing clan borders. Lazy, no-good, skulker, softpaw. But a cow? He'd hardly heard anything of the sort. But then, maybe that was the point. What was a kitten to do but to think the unthinkable? To think of something so new and obscure and out of the blue, that only a still growing mind could grasp onto it like a fish floundering ashore. Guess I did tease him first. With a twitch of his mouth- although, for better or for worse couldn't be determined- he lowered his eyelids into a hooded stare. Resigned to his fate, and resigned to the strange, nonsensical questions of the second child this season to obstruct his path. "Well, now.. that's quite a question, isn't it? Coming from a young one like you, who ought to be accompanied by an adult.. I should wonder why you're here. As for me?"
He tilted his head and gave a puffing exhale in a vague estimation of cowish behavior, accentuating the gesture with a lean inward. Not so far as to loom, but just far enough to nonchalantly skim the little guy's pelt for injury. "Cows are known for grazing, aren't they? Nothin' unusual 'bout roamin' free..." Cosmo spoke easily, a flicker of reassurance smoothing the prickle of his fur once affirming the younger cat's safety. At the very least, the ginger was visibly intact. No blood scent, no weird ruffles hiding scuffle marks. Honestly, it made it all the stranger. Even in his own youth, mostly independent, there had always been a figure lurking by, making sure the seagulls didn't bully him. Making sure he wasn't swept up into cage or burnt by a dog's hot breath. Can't have been out here long, then. "What's your name, fella? If you're not a leaf, you're sure to have one. All cats do... for the most part."

Optimus didnt bother finding some sort of remark to the tom's question, he was too tired. He had this tingling feeling in his paws, and they began to ache. "Welll...." he mewed, his small head tilting towards the ground. ugh."The name's Optimus..." he sighed, "Optimus Prime" The small orange kit gazed up at the patchy coloured tom, his inquisitive green orbs slightly poking out from his fur. "You got a name, cow?" Timmy just smiled innocently as if he hadn't just called him a cow, his mind kept wondering though, he could see the bugs and the birds out here. "Oh yeah i forgot - you can call me Timmy!" He stretched out his tiny limbs as he mewed in a squeaky tone, stretching himself forward before perching himself to the ground once more. (Sorry didnt know if i should reply but i did anyway )
