RABBITSTAR Another moon, another leap up into the collective eye of the Clan. His perch was a physical reminder of what his Clan needed from him. Rabbitstar took a deep breath. “All cats capable of catching their own prey, gather around for a Clan meeting!” He waited patiently for his Clan to gather. Once he was satisfied with the turnout, he continued. “This moon, we have news and ceremonies alike. I know the past few moons have been difficult. I am proud to call myself the leader of SunClan when I see how strongly everyone has carried these threats and tragedies alike. I am honored to be your Clanmate.”
With a sweep of their curled tail, Rabbitstar gestured to Swanmask. “In light of this, we have come to an agreement that I hope you all will find exciting. SunClan will be hosting a day of festivities. There will be a variety of games and competitions that all cats will be welcome to partake in. With leaf-fall coming soon, we should take this opportunity while we have it.” They studied the faces of the cats below them. “I understand that this is atypical for us, to say the least, but I think it'll do us good. Evidence of our prosperity and strength in the face of adversity. With the new addition of a night patrol, our borders are more secure and our fresh-kill pile remains abundant. We'll still have patrols, of course, but before and after those cats will be welcome to partake in the games.”
He took one last examining sweep, the words of ceremonies now dancing about in his head. “We'll host this in half a moon, so there's time to prepare. Any questions?” |

"Oh, oh!" Tinyleaf's haunches bunched as if to spring forward, just barely keeping himself in place as he wiggled excitedly near the middle section of the gathered Sunclan. Ignoring the sharp glance from Turtlefang across the way, he swiped a paw high in the air as if to request attention in competition with literally no one else. "What sort of activities will we be doing, Rabbitstar? Oh- If you're allowed to tell us! If there's already specific ideas, I think we could all start practicing right away! Then we'll be super honed for the challenge, right?" Already, his mind was filled with thoughts of racing his clanmates throughout the woods, tumbling through the lakeshore, maybe even pouncing on each other in play battle! He couldn't remember a time Sunclan had done anything like their leader was describing, not since his own family-specific games back in his kithood days. It sounded like a really special occasion!
"Oh, um- Will there be rewards, too? I'd be happy just to partake, but I guess that's another question!" It wasn't usual for him to be so vocal in a formal gathering, but it was hard to hold back when such big developments were occurring right before his very eyes. As shy as he could be about addressing Rabbitstar- never wanting to interrupt a cat ordained by Starclan, after all- knowing all the juicy details would make it easier to be at his very best for the big day! Oh! Maybe Fawnheart will team up with me, too!

Any and all enthusiasm was critical in the project's success. “If you want to practice for the event, I suggest working on tracking, hunting, and fighting,” Rabbitstar answered simply, letting his smile slip into his words. “I think the surprise element will make it fun, but those are the key skills that will help you excel. You may also want to look for cats to group up with, as not all the challenges will be solitary.” With a playful but cryptic tone in his voice, he couldn't help but feel... excited, maybe? He wasn't sure he'd felt that in some time. “As for prizes,” Rabbitstar continued, picking up the air of formality once more. At least a little bit. “I suppose we could work something out for prizes, should anything not suit a victor, but kits will be permitted a unique trip around the territory. Warriors will be given the unique opportunity to join a new patrol I've been working on for some moons now. I won't disclose any more information on that in the mean time, but just know that for cats who seek adventure and to strengthen the Clan, this mission will satiate both those desires.” His chest shook with the excitement of those words. Had they been cleared with Swanmask? No, absolutely not. He hadn't even thought of it until just this moment, with a flash of inspiration - but the Clan didn't need to know that. “Any other questions about the event?” |

Satiated with the response, the brimming enthusiasm in Rabbitstar's tone seemed infectious. Shivering pleasantly with a sudden thrill, Tinyleaf searched the crowd for his sibling at the mention of teamplay, catching Fawnheart's avoidant gaze meaningfully before returning to blink up at the leader. A special patrol! A secret patrol! An adventure patrol! So much to look forward to! If he hadn't just kept the spotlight, he'd chime back in to vocalize his excitement for all the clan to hear! With all the fuss about night patrol, this new mission would be the perfect opportunity to maybe go the extra mile in his own way! Maybe, just maybe, he could do something important, too! Honeyflare was right- I just had to wait for something exciting to come my way!
It was a shame to think cats would have to compete for it.. but the thought of overcoming his worst weaknesses, of vying against others to show Rabbitstar the very best of what he had to offer, filled Tinyleaf with a powerful determination. A warrior like him was made for this! I won't lose!

The tom had taken up a position along the edge of the gathered cats not to eager to potentially be jostled around by others if a few of them chose to move at the same time. Wildsrpings ears flicked as he waited for Rabbitstar to continue with the other matters he wanted to speak on, excitement made him shift slightly. A new event announced and with what sounds like some entertaining things to do though Wildspring wasn't sure where he would start on that day he supposed some would depend on if he was asked to join but that would be a later thought. He had heard Rabbitstar mention that he would be giving Hope their new name and such today and was wondering who might be picked to mentor them maybe Swanmask would have another apprentice or who knows maybe even Turtlefang.

His name is Pearl, and he's requested to become a SunClan warrior - treat him kindly, and in due time, if he proves himself in the eyes of StarClan, we shall be cheering his new name. In the meantime, another outsider, the age of a fresh apprentice, shall begin the hallowed training of a warrior so that she too may one day be a SunClan warrior.” Thankful to have decided previously to keep her twoleg collar, he let the red glint guide his eyes to the cat in question. With a flick of his tail, he gestured her forward. She didn't seem surprised, but she did seem... excited. A good sign, he hoped. As she came up beside him, he glanced up at her. “Hope, you have cast aside the softness of a kittypet's life, and to honor your sacrifice, from this day on, until you are granted your warrior name, you shall be known as Firepaw. Your mentor will be Wildspring, I hope he passes all that he knows to you.” His gaze quickly flit over to Wildspring, gesturing him up with his tail to continue the final step of the ceremony. |

The toms ears flicked in surprise this wasn't what they was expecting them? but their brother had so many others to choose from.. stunned the tom made their paws move so that it didn't look like he wasn't apart of things once he reached the two he dipped his head in greeting before turning to the former kitty pet? now Firepaw he leaned in slowly so that she noticed he didn't mean to spook her but needed to invade her space a moment, once he was close enough he briefly touched his nose to her own.

The she-cat watched from her spot near the rock that Rabbitstar addressed the clan from when it was not a ceremony the she-cat listened to the back and forth between Tinyleaf and Rabbitstar on the upcoming events and was surprised by a couple of the details that Rabbitstar stated though it was not much of a change so she was content with it even though it hadn't been brought up before now. When the questioning was over she was content to stay where she was and watch the rest unsurprised when Rabbitstar went straight into welcoming Hope into the clan changing her name to Firepaw and when he named Wildspring as her mentor Swanmask let out a soft purr she had been asked who she might out as the young new comers mentor and as she had completed another's training a few moons before she was unrushed to have another knowing Wildspring hadn't had an apprentice before she had made the suggestion hoping that with her support of it Rabbitstar wouldn't look at it like he was choosing favourites.
