PANSYSTAR Soft rain trickled down from a cloudy grey sky. The past few days had been particularly rainy among the territories, so Pansystar knew that the move to the newleaf camp was quickly approaching. Part of it filled Pansystar with dread as she knew that MoonClan wasn't ready yet for the move. But on the other hand, she hoped that it would postpone the onslaught of SunClan aggression. But knowing them, one could only hope.
First things first, it would be time to find fresh bedding. She had hoped that Foxlily had taken care of it, but just in case she'd want to grab a bit more. It'd be wet when they gathered it, but hopefully, it would dry inside of the medicine cat's den. Anything would b better than trying to make nests when the rain was non-stop.
Pansystar sought out the first warrior she could find, which happened to be Piketooth. She dipped her head to the warrior before meowing: "Are you free? I need some help with something." template created by sunni

Piketooth was residing in the clearing, eyes closed with his head tilted towards the sky. The steady drum of the rain against his face helped soothe and relax him. If only to help him distract his thoughts from what was really ailing him. His mind was always a collection of spider webs and thunderstorms, something of which he wished was no more. The tom heard pawsteps before the voice penetrated his ear drums. He opened his blue eyes slowly, tail twitching. Piketooth turned his head downwards to lock eyes with Pansystar. He had not yet had the chance to grace himself with the leader's presence. But it would seem that today was the day. And she was asking him for help. He paused as he rolled her request over in his mind. It wasn't like he was busy or anything. "Sure." He mewed with a start, his voice as soft as it always was. "What do you need me to do?" Piketooth slowly rose to his paws, arching his back in a stretch.

PANSYSTAR She let out a breif sigh before responding: "That's great, Piketooth. I need help gathering resources to get us ready to move to the newleaf camp. With all this rain, it won't be long until we're forced to." As if proving her right, a articularly large raindrop landed on her ear, which she flicked away.
"I think we should prioritize gathering moss for the new dens. The rain is only going to get worse from here." The tabby took a brief look around the camp, trying to jog her memory for den materials. "Oh! Brambles and lichen might be useful too. After that winter, I doubt those dens held up very well."
It was true that the newleaf camp had the advantage of most dens being carved out of the mountains's stone, but they still had the camp wall to build and the den entrances would need to be renforced. Especially with the rising SunClan danger, they couldn't stand to be unpretected now. template created by sunni

Piketooth flicked his gaze upwards, noting the rain was steadily growing more dense as they talked. "You have a point." He mewed gently. "Where should we gather these materials..?"For the life of him, Pike found it hard to remember exactly where these items resided. At least the moss he knew of some good logs. But the lichen...? Did those also grow on logs? He wasn't sure. "I apologize if I sound like a kit, but I don't think I've yet to stumble across lichen in my time in the territory."Should he admit he was lost on the brambles? Or would that only disappoint her further? Did that matter anymore? His mentor would say otherwise but he had no answer. "I should be able to find some good moss. And, maybe the brambles." Ideally I'd like to know where the lichen is anyway. His ear flicked at the thought.

PANSYSTAR Pansystar's whiskers twitched as she chuckled. If the warrior was trying not to sound like a kit, he was seriously failing. His inquisitiveness could only be related to youth, but with no idea how old he was, Pansystar couldn't be certain. And even so, she couldn't truly be one to judge. As far as leaders went, she was pretty young herself.
"Lichen is found pretty much all over. The best probably grows on the spruce trees in the southern territory, near the gathering place." She was thinking specifically of the lungwort that thrived in the south. It was thick and soft; it would be perfect to padd in the brambles that would soon make up the walls and den entrances to their newleaf camp. "Oh! You'll probably have to srip off some of the bark to get it to peel off nicely. Don't worry too much, the trees will be fine."
She turned amber eyes to the grey sky, a sigh escaping her maw. "Let's hope the rain gives us enough time. We need to get going fast." template created by sunni

Piketooth nodded, "Got it. Would you like to lead us there? I figure you have a better understanding of where it's located than I do." He could have explained further but decided against it. He was much too tired for an extensive conversation. Better yet to have her underestimate him than to expect too much. He waited patiently for her to lead them out of camp. Surely the trees would block out most of the rain. If that, he didn't mind it all too much.

PANSYSTAR Pansystar chuckled. Being leader it would make sense for her to lead the duo into the territory, but she thought the reality of the situation was just that Piketooth didn't know where the necessary materials would be. Her whiskers twitched as she nodded her head. "yes, of course, Piketooth."
She set a brisk yet manageable pace as the two of them departed from the camp. As StarClan would have it, the materials they needed were scattered across the territory. And it wasn't like they could decide not to gather certain items; all were essential for the camp's new construction. But, if nothing else, it would give them time to converse.
"Piketooth, is this your first flood season? At least as a warrior?" Pansystar inquired, looking at the tom with curious amber eyes. template created by sunni

Piketooth suddenly felt bad for not knowing which way to go. But with time, he hoped he would be able to have the experience needed. The tom flicked an ear back in thought. "Yes. I believe so." Or, for him, he couldn't really remember much about his past. He had blocked a lot of it out at this point. The one he relied on the most about memory related things had been his mother and sister. But they... They weren't here anymore. He stumbled slightly as his thoughts wrapped themselves around his conscious. "Sorry," he mewed, righting himself again. "How much do we need? Or just... Grab whatever we can?"

PANSYSTAR Pansystar's ear twitched as she noticed the shift in behavior in Piketooth. Had she struck a nerve? Perhaps Piketooth had lost someone in the seaonsla flooding. It was by no means unheard of for someone to loose a loved one in the flood. It had pretty much become common in MoonClan, so nobody really tiptoed around the subject. Part of Pansystar found it unsettling, how desensitized to death her Clan had become. But there wasn't much to be done about it. It was simply their way of life now.
"I'm sorry Piketooth. Was it something I said?" her yellow eyes held concern for the younger warrior. "Is it the floods?" Pansystar lowered her voice when she asked her second question, worried that she might upset Piketooth further. template created by sunni
