Nettlestorm's tabby fur ruffled in the wind as he padded back to camp. His paws ached, carrying the memory of the day's long journey. A journey in vain. Everyday we woke at dawn and set out, looking for some trace of Webleaf. Today he ventured past the MoonClan border, his fur carried the scent of unknown territory.
Nettlestorm shouldered his way into camp, ignoring the gaze of the cat on guard boring into him. He knew what his Clanmates were thinking. They pitied him. They thought he was wasting his time searching for Webleaf. They all think she's dead, Nettlestorm thought bitterly, feeling his pelt prickle with anger. Cowards! All of them! How could they give up on their Clanmate like that? As long as Nettlestorm had known her, Webleaf was a loyal and honorable warrior, trained by MoonClan's leader herself. She wouldn't give up on them so easily.
The grey tabby eyed the fresh-kill pile. The sight of it made his mouth feel dry as cotton. Fresh-kill had no taste anymore. There was no warmth in sunlight. Nothing in MoonClan mattered with his old mentor beside him. She shouldn't been there. Given me assesment, seen the ceremony. His green eyes flittered up to the sky, a soft dusk revealing the first stars of silverpelt. Webleaf, where are you?

Ivystrike, Warrior, & MoonClan
Ivystrike had been walking through the camp when he spotted Nettlestorm. Curious Ivystrike wonder over to him. "Hey Nettlestorm." Ivystrike said at first now realizing that Nettlestrom was still down about Webleaf. It didn't take Ivystrike long to realize what was wrong.
"No luck?" He asked knowing that Nettlestorm was hurting. At this Ivystrike didn't know what to say to Nettlestorm. Ivystrike just hoped that Nettlestorm would be able to cheer up again. |

Nettlestorm jumped a bit when he heard Ivystrike's voice beside him. No luck. No, there was never any luck in his searches. It didn't matter how far he ventured, nothing.
"No," he muttered, not looking at Ivystrike. "It's like she just disappeared. There's no scent, there's no fur, pawprints, nothing." Nettlestorm shook his head. "She wasn't even in the battle. She was in camp! She woke up when we did. So what happened?"
Nettlestorm looked at Ivystrike, though he didn't know why. It wasn't like the other tom would have any answers for him. No cat did, and that was the worst part.

Ivystrike, Warrior, & MoonClan Ivystrike still looked at Nettlestorm. "I'm sure Webleaf will show up with an explanation as to what happen." Ivystrike said trying to cheer his friend up. "I'm sure of it." He added. Ivystrike of course did not know if Webleaf was dead or not, but he hated seeing his friend down. Ivystrike nudge Nettlestorm. "How about later, we both go looking for her." Ivystrike said wanting to help his fiend. And Ivystrike hoped that they could find Webleaf for Nettlestorm's sake. |

Nettlestorm shook his head. "No, I can't." he meowed. "Not later. Now. I have to go back out as soon as I can."
He could feel his words trapping in his throat, his jaw hinged shut. Nettlestorm didn't want to think about it, but with his friend at his side, it felt more manageable than it did rattling around in his head. "What if she's out there? What if she's out there, trapped somewhere out there. What if I find her, and it's already too late?"
Nettlestorm buried his head in his paws, holding onto his head with his claws. "I know we weren't easy apprentices. I know I got us into trouble but..." he trailed off. "I can't fail her like this."

Ivystrike, Warrior, & MoonClan Ivystrike looked at Nettlestorm. He felt bad for him. "I'm sure we'll fine her in time." He said not wanting his friend to be upset. Ivystrike watched Nettlestorm. Ivystrike looked at the sky for the moment. "You haven't failed her and you won't fail her, I'm sure about that." Ivystrike said seeing Nettlestorm in the state he was in. Ivystrike put his paw against Nettlestorm's back. "Then let's look for her." He said wanting to be there for Nettlestorm. |

Nettlestorm sighed, lifting his paws from his head. He didn't look up at Ivystrike, feeling too miserable.
"How can you know I haven't failed her? No cat has seen a trace of her in moons. They all say she's dead."

Ivystrike, Warrior, & MoonClan Ivystrike looked at Nettlestorm still. "Because your alive and your looking for her." Ivystrike said knowing that Nettlestorm was down. "The clan might think she's dead, but there's the chance she's still alive." He added not wanting Nettlestorm to give up. Ivystrike left his paw where it was. |

Nettlestorm sighed again. This time he lifted himself back to his paws. At the very least, Ivystrike didn't think she was dead, and neither did Nightfrost. His two best friends. Nettlestorm's eyes softened as he reflected on everything he'd pulled them into over their moons of training. Those two really would stick by him through anything.
"Okay," he meowed softly. "I think you're right. If nothing else, we're trying, and that's gotta count for something." A soft smile rested on his maw for a short moment before he spoke again. "Thank you, Ivystrike. You and Nightfrost are the best friends a cat could ask for."

Ivystrike, Warrior, & MoonClan Ivystrike looked at Nettlestorm with a smile on his face after hearing Netllestorm. "I'll always be there to help you." He said knowing that his friend needed him. "And that's what friends are for." Ivystrike added meaning it. He cared about Nettlestorm and wanted to help him no matter what. |

"Thank you," Nettlestorm repeated softly. The dark tabby shook out his fur as if he was shaking his feelings away too.
"If we want to search for her, I think we should try south. Maybe past the south border of MoonClan territory. Though I'm pretty sure I searched there last moon. Who knows at this point."
Nettlestorm padded forward, tail-tip twitching. His eyelids and paws felt heavy, but maybe he'd make some progress with Ivystrike by his side. "That sound like a good plan to you?"

Ivystrike stood up and looked at Nettlestorm before looking ahead. "Then let's go." Ivystrike added wanting to help his friend no matter what. |
