Mostumble had been a part of the battle patrol that faced Sunchaser and Moondancer. While the battle was brutal and grueling, it didn't feel like three moons. But yet, here they were, in greenleaf in the newleaf camp. Mosstumble couldn't imagine how their Clanmates had felt when they woke up in a raging flood. They'd been lucky it hadn't been worse, Mosstumble thought grimly.
But they didn't have time to dwell on it. All of the chaos meant that MoonClan was wildly unprepared for their move. Why would they be? They had much bigger problems three moons ago. Today, Pansystar requested that Mosstumble gather supplies for rebuilding the newleaf camp. It felt silly to do so with the Clan moving in just a moon. Mosstumble had voiced their complaints but was shut down by the brown-furred leader almost instantly. Mosstumble could see she had bigger problems than their complaining too.
Mosstubmle padded into what would eventually be a suitable warriors' den. MoonClan would only have one moon to use it before tearing it down, but what did Mosstumble know anyway? Their whiskers twithed in irritation as they gazed at the cats inside. Who would be the least irritating to work with? Their eyes landed on Featherstep. At least he's quiet. Mosstumble, aware of how terrible that sounded, even in their own head, took a breath. They were frustrated, but they didn't get to take that out on other cats. The warrior paused to calm themself down before gingerly padding over to Featherstep's nest.
"Psst, Featherstep," they whispered, lowering their head close to the other warrior's ear. "Wake up. Pansystar says we need to gather camp supplies." Mosstumble extended a paw to lightly prod the warrior, hoping to wake him up. |

Featherstep groans in his sleep, his blue eyes slowly opening as he was awakened by his dear friend. He smiles seeing Mosstumble's face looking right back at him, slowly he arises from his slumber shaking of the exhaustion and looking to his friend gleefully.
"Morning Moss seems like you're in a good mood, not that I am pointing out, you had battled with the other clan not too long ago...so I wouldn't be surprised if things turned out that way...." Feather step responded as he stretches himself out, showing that he was quite bigger than Mosstumble as he grooms his fur atop his head when he noticed that he was messy. He stands up and quietly waits for his friend's commands.... he was a headscratcher, that's for sure, with I'm mostly out at night and hunting for the clan, and doing things solo, though ever since their last encounter Feather has softened around Moss.

Mosstumble's ear twitched at the greeting. Moss. Maybe they were missing someone, but Mosstumble could only think of one other cat with a nickname for them. "Uh, morning, Feather." The words felt weird leaving their maw.
"The battle was a lot. The SunClan warriors fought really well. I'm glad we were on the same side this time." Mosstumble was much happier with the shift in conversation to the battle. They flicked their tail, signaling for Featherstep to follow. "We can chat about it more on the way if you'd like." |

Featherstep was quiet surprised as he didn't hear any battle happen while he was slumbering...now thinking of it...how long had he been asleep?
"There....there was a war....and I didn't hear it? What had happened? I'd love to know more as we make our way there.....please.." Featherstep asked quietly as he follows his companion out of the shared den and obediently follows.
He smiles to himself when he hears the beautiful sounds of birds singing in the trees like they always did when the sun was still starting to rise.
"The birds are happy today...I think our patrol will be a lot more calmer this time"

"Yeah, you and most of camp," Mosstumble commented. "Sunchaser and Moondance, the foxhearts, they messed with our time or something. I don't get it. But Pansystar said we've spent three whole moons and that's why everyone woke up to a flood and-" Mosstumble cut themself off as their speaking pace grew quicker and quicker, snappier and snappier. "Sorry. It's a frustrating topic."
Mosstumble's ear twitched as they caught the birdsong Featherstep was referring to. "Looks like we'll have swift hunting! You wanna stop and catch something? We can burry it until we've delivered the material to camp." |

Featherstep's eyes widen in shock as he shakes his head immediately in response.
"NO ABSOLUTELY NOT!!" Featherstep yelled, catching himself as he looks away feeling ashamed of his outburst that he looked ready to cry.
"Sorry.....I-I just don't want them to get hurt...they aren't even worth it...so small...not enough to fill up your appetite is all....plus...they're too pretty to be harmed." Featherstep said quietly ad he couldn't look at his friend in the eyes.

Mosstumble jumped, all of their fur standing up. Featherstep and yelling were like two polar opposites. They looked at the tom, bewilderment in their green eyes.
"Okay! Okay! No birds!" Calming down a bit, Mosstumble's fur began to flatten. They licked their paw and smoothed it over their head, hoping they didn't look too crazy after being startled so bad. "So do you just like... not eat birds? Any other prey I should know about?" On an irritation streak today, their voice was pointed, almost accusingly toward Featherstep. |

Featherstep laughs awkwardly a bit as a bird flutters right over their heads.
"Just the birds....they were there for me when..." Featherstep goes quiet for a bit before shaking his head and smiling at Mosstuble, though it seemed to hide some pain. "Well...I know a good place where we can catch some fish! Not the small kind they can even be as big as you Mosstumble! Not to mention they are amazing!!" Feather step gleamed before cheekily pawing Mosstumble's face and booking it.
"Last one there is a fish head!!!" Featherstep yelled.

The grey warriors' whiskers twitched and they were intrigued as to what Featherstep meant by that. Curiosity itched at their paws, but they could tell by the tone in in the beige-furred warrior's voice: Featherstep didn't want to share.
He changed the subject to fish and Mosstumble nodded in agreement. They liked fish as much as the next cat and the prospect of a big juicy piece of prey made their mouth water. Before Mosstumlble could comment, Featherstep was charging ahead, and throwing around the word fish head.
"Hey, that's not fair!" There was laughter in their meow as they raced forward. "You've got a head start! And I've got short legs. |

Featherstep laughs in glee as they run through their territory passing by some squirrels that lept to the trees as the warriors dashed through and finally make it towards a big lake.
Featherstep turns to see Mosstumble who finally caught up to them as Featherstep grins their tail twitching with excitement.
"Hahaha~ Looks like someone is being called fish face." Feather said as he circles around an put of breath Mosstumble.

"Only because you cheated!" they retorted, panting as they caught up to Featherstep. It didn't help that the beige-furred tom had longer legs than Mosstumble did, but they weren't going to be the one to point that out. "I'd beat you in a re-match any day," they lied. "Maybe when I'm not so out of breath." |

"Whatever you saw fish face~" Featherstep teased as he nuzzled into Mosstumble playfully before they look at the beautiful lake where Moss noticed big juicy salmon happily swimming around.
"Told you this place was cool, let's catch a few for us to eat and bring some back?" Featherstep said as they hop down a few rocks and keeps their keep soaked in the river.
