That morning had brought a rude awakening for Nettlepaw and all the rest of MoonClan. Water flooded the camp and soaked his nest. What was even going on? His head was cloudying as he padded out of the apprentices' den. The whole camp was flooded. Where was all of the leaf-bare snow?
None of it made sense. And from the confused looks on his Clanmates' faces, it wasn't just him. Nettlepaw decided he'd find Webleaf. She'd know what to do, or at least where to start. He immediately padded to the warriors' den, sticking his head in the den. But when he looked around, he didn't see her black and orange pelt in her nest. That was weird. "Webleaf?" he whispered into the den, narrowing his eyes. But still nothing.
But that was when they came back. The battle party. That's right! They were fighting Sunchaser and Moondancer. Nettlepaw had been so disappointed Needlesong and Pansystar wouldn't let him fight with them. Nettlepaw didn't think Webleaf went with them, but everything was so fuzzy in his head. She must've. How cool! The grey apprentice was ready to pester his mentor for all of her cool battle stories. He'd make her show him the battle moves she used against Sunchaser and Moondancer.
Running out of the warriors' den, Nettlepaw's tail dropped and eyes widened almost immediately. Webleaf wasn't among them. Pansystar, Foxlily, Mosstumble, Thunderwillow, Needlesong, Pantherfeather... weren't there more warriors too.
Nettlepaw, lover of adventure, known for climbing to the top of the nursery as a kit, hunting down StarClan at the Moonpond (or at least he tried), and adventuring the territory with his fellow apprentices. He wasn't afraid of anything. But for the first time in his life, his voice trembled when he spoke.
"Where's Webleaf?"
