FOXLILY With most of the plants gone, the stocks full, and so few cats in need of tending, Foxlily found themself... bored. Boredom was technically a good sign for the Clan! But it was a frustrating feeling for a busybody like herself, made embarrassing by the fact that her job would currently only be necessary if someone came across the misfortune of injury or illness. They certainly didn't want anything like that happening to anybody.
The fortune of MoonClan was that instances like this were remedied by the recreational culture they'd carved for themselves. So, Foxlily had simply trotted herself just outside of camp, and observed the options around her. Painting wouldn't be at all practical, and they weren't comfortable using the limited foliage of leaf-bare for crown making or any similar craft. With a glance of the paw prints behind her, she got an idea. With quick motions, she began pushing the snow into the shape of a torso - though, without any other features (yet), it wasn't very obvious. Well, they'd get there eventually, between breaks for their paws to not freeze off of course. |

PANSYSTAR Pansystar saw Foxlily, her mate. Oh, just the idea of the word made her feel all sorts of giddy inside. She didn't know how she'd managed to keep those feelings inside of her for so long. Now that it was official, it was like to was just bursting from her at all times. What a sap. The brown tabby's whiskers twitched as her eyes caught Foxlily going through the motions of... something? What were they doing? Gathering snow? Pansystar was no medicine cat, but she didn't think snow had any healing properties. Maybe she was wrong. ｡☆✼★━━━━ Foxlily ━━━━★✼☆｡ Hearing her mate's voice, Foxlily's tail curled with excitement, a trill of the same joy escaping their throat before they could give a proper answer. “If you've got the free time, it might be fun,” she answered in a chirp before remembering to explain just what it was she was doing. “I thought it might be fun to make a cat out of snow! It's just a torso right now, but with a little more work I think it'll be a pretty easily interpreted shape!” After all, how many times had Foxlily been startled by thinking a rock or a bush or even a clump of snow was a cat from her peripheral vision? Too many, but that made her feel like the idea was attainable, at least. Hopefully they'd remember where dear Snowfur was after it was all said and done, though. |

PANSYSTAR Pansystar smiled, struggling to contain giddy excitement at the idea. Foxlily, her mate, oh that still felt so weird to think about. But it was a nice weird. A kind of weird that made Pansystar's cheeks hurt from smiling and her face warmer than a greenleaf afternoon. "I've always got the time for something like this," she warmly replied, joining Foxlily In the construction. ｡☆✼★━━━━ Foxlily ━━━━★✼☆｡ With Pansystar joining, Foxlily was sure her emotions would be enough to keep her from freezing over. As for ways to help... “Help me pile the snow up here?,” they suggested, patting where they'd decided the "front" of the cat would be. “It'll have to be higher here so we can carve out the head, but I think it'll be easier if the both of us tackle it together.” It wasn't as if the cat was planned to be particularly big, but if they both approached it from either side... they could probably get it to be more firm, right? It was admittedly guesswork, having never done this before, but that was the fun of it. The problem solving. |

PANSYSTAR Pansystar nodded her head, listening to Foxlily's instructions. Pansystar moved to help Foxlily with the front of the snow cat, scooping up snow with her paws and packing it in. "Something like this, yeah? Make this torso stronger to support the head?" Pansystar followed Foxlily's gaze as they discussed the placement of the snow cat's head. "Okay, I can see that. Maybe we can move something over here for you to stand on when we're ready to work up there." Though, looking at Foxlily now, Pansystar realized how much taller her mate was than her. Maybe she would be able to reach without standing on something else. ｡☆✼★━━━━ Foxlily ━━━━★✼☆｡ Foxlily gave a nod of approval as Pansystar began packing snow, relieved that her instructions had made any semblance of sense. “Yeah, that'll work!,” they agreed before considering the getting something to stand on. “Maybe I should have made this cat smaller... that's a good idea, though, it'll definitely make it easier to be propped up.” In the meantime, though, she helped add snow to strengthen the torso. She stole a glance over at Pansystar. “It's nice to build something together. I think we've been needing a bit of a break from Clan duties,” she laughed. |

PANSYSTAR Pansystar sighed, nodding her head in agreement with Foxlily's comment about duties. "You're telling me." The leader chuckled, not taking her eyes off of the snow creation. "I think we're on the right path. I think we'll be able to set everything right before we know it. I hope so, at least." It had occured to Pansystar that she was being hopeful or taking the easy way out by ignoring them. But she had to stick to it. The peace MoonClan could already see was enough confirmation for her decision. The leader took a step back from the base they had been building. "Well, what do you think about this?" She asked. It was a short mound, wide and compact. Pansystar had tried to smooth out the snow. Looking at it now, she noticed a few patches and wells in the mound she had missed. ｡☆✼★━━━━ Foxlily ━━━━★✼☆｡ From what little they understood of structures of any kind, wide and compact would benefit them in keeping the snow cat's head sturdy. Giving herself a few steps of distance from the snow cat, Foxlily gave a small nod of approval. Focus on the structural integrity was probably more important than worrying on how polished it was in this stage. Wouldn't do them any good to make it perfectly smooth if it collapsed easily, after all. They turned their attention back to Pansystar. “Yeah, I think we're ready for that! It'll help us see if there's anything we need to change in the body, too,” she noted. Dutifully, Foxlily began to gather snow before remembering the support they'd just talked about. “Oh, should we go find something to stand on now, then?” |
