regression is rarely rewarded || open, shooting stars!

PANSYSTAR

Pansystar was ready to call it a night and return to her nest. The leaf-bare chill was beginning to seep into her pelt, and she could see each breath she took hanging in the air. As she turned toward her nest, a bright light caught her amber eye. Her whiskers twitched as she turned around to try and catch it. At first nothing. Then another one came. Her eyes widened. A shooting star!

Pansystar paused as the second star faded. Another one came to take its place, and then another one, and another one, until the entire night sky was lit with the cool light of shooting stars. She had seen a shooting star before, but never anything like this.

Her paws were giddy, the tiredness being sucked from her brain. Should she wake her Clanmates? How could they miss out on something like this? With how bright the lights were, they were probably waking up to it anyway.
