It was bound to happen eventually, but Mosstumble was going to complain about it nonetheless. Mosstumble had been assigned to gather and lead a dawn patrol. Mosstumble didn't hate mornings by any means, quiet birdsong and the tall trees of the spruce forest shrowed in a gentle misty haze; they were quite lovely. But even so, extra sleep was always appreciated.
Mosstumble stretched in their nest, careful not to shake out their dark pelt as not to wake up their denmates. They already had a cat in mind for the patrol. Featherstep was quiet and peaceful. He'd make for good company. Unlike certain other cats (big, loud yellow cats), he was well suited for a quiet morning patrol. Hopefully he wouldn't mind being woken up with the news.
