What a disater. Colder weather brought snow, and snow was the last thing any cat needed. It piled high in the camp during the night, when all of MoonClan would sleep peacefully. Then, by about sunhigh when the whole Clan was active and assembling for patrols, the snow would become a muddy mess scattered with debris and paw prints. In the cold season, no cat had the time or energy to keep the camp clean. Hopefully this time would be different.
Mosstumble had excused themself from patrols today to tackle to daunting task. (Needlesong and Pansystar would have to get over it). If they could at least clear some pathways before the clearing got too muddy. They even woke up while it was still dark out, hoping that there wouldn't be many cats awake to disturb their work.
Blinking sleep from their eyes, Mosstumble stumbled out of the warriors den. Shaking out their grey and white fur, they were ready to tackle to daunting task. They circled around the back of the warriors den. Preparing for the long day, they had stashed the biggest sticks they could carry, hoping to use it to push snow away. They drug it around to the front of the den and laid it down horizontally. Mosstumble began pushing it, and a good amount of snow, to the side of the warriors' den entrance.
They looked back at their test strand, feeling quite pleased with themself. It didn't remove all the snow of course, but a good amount nonetheless. A small snow back was left propped against the stick.
Mosstumble was ready to do the other side when they caught a glimpse of the rest of camp. When did it get so big? They sighed, inital pride at the bright idea evaporating on the spot. Doing the whole camp was going to take forever.

Thunderwillow had been alive for quite a few moons. More than she could count! Her mentor had tried to teach her things like quantity, to take record of how much and how many and how long... but that sort of thinking just bogged a cat down in the past. Who cared how many seasons they lived, how many bugs they saw fly by that day? And certainly, what did it matter how many winters she may have seen? It didn't make seeing a new one any less exciting! Counting and comparing.. that's one way to make snow real boring!
The big molly burst from the warrior's den not too soon after Mosstumble had, thumping noisily against the entryway with a soft oof! She was so busy shaking her pelt out from the painful bump that she almost didn't notice the whiteness of the campgrounds! Not until she refocused.. and realized, with a gasp!
"SNOW!" Gaping at the frost which had magically dusted over the usual scenery, he shouted out to the first cat he saw! "MOSSTUMBLE! Get a load of all this! Have you ever seen so much snow in your whole entire life? WHEW! But not right here, huh?!" Muzzle dropping to the recently cleared perimeter of the den, he inhaled the freshly brushed grass, as if searching for explanation. Instead, he got a loose blade of grass directly up his nostril! Jerking back with a raucous sneeze, he stumbled back a few feet, knocking into the entryway all over again with another THUMP of impact. "WHOA-HO-HO! Now that's a kicker! Ummm- Guess I was so warm the snow couldn't settle near me, huh? YOU'RE WELCOME, everybody!"

Something alerted the young she-cat to the absence of her clan mates, ears flicking she heard the sounds of shifting snow and knew someone was awake. Green eyes slowly blinked open and began to focus the air still crisp from the snow fall the dampness had yet to seep into the den today thankfully but she knew it would effect others more. When the louder voice of Thunderwillow spoke the she-cat smiled but held back a small sigh knowing that the clan would be woken from the carrying echo.
Taking to her paws she began to rouse herself not wanting to hear some of the grumpy attitudes being woken up usually brought, slipping out of the den and seeing an area that was shallower then the rest she realized what Mosstumble was trying to do bringing her attention to them she noticed they were using a stick to push the snow. "Would you like some help moving the snow Mosstumble?" she asked.

Mosstumble was greeted to none other than Thunderwillow in all of his big, yellow, loud glory. The grey feline rolled their eyes when he spoke. They were pretty young last winter, but it wasn't like snow was underheard of. Thunderwillow acted like she'd never seen it before. "It snows every year, Thunderwillow." Their response was flat as they tired to suppress their annoyance. It wasn't Thunderwillow, they reasoned. It was just early in the morning. Mosstumble would still od their nice deed and feel good about themself for the day.
Coming to their rescue was Webleaf. Mosstumble nodded their head in response. "Yes, please. This project is going to be bigger than I thought." They looked out at the mostly snow-covered camp and sighed. Hopefully, if more kind cats like Webleaf showed up, it wouldn't have to be an all day endeavor.
"There's extra sticks behind the warriors den. You can pushed them around to make a path, like I'm doing here."

Pleased to see not just one, but two clanmates out to observe the phenomenon, Thunderwillow gave a playful bounce towards the dark she-cat as she emerged. "Hiya, Webleaf! Up and at'em, huh?" Then, eyes glimmering with mirth, she was quick to give Mosstumble a long, humoring shake of the head. "If it's a big project you're on about, you know what you could use? Me! I'm all big, all day! BAAHAAAHAA!!"
Seemingly unaware of their annoyance, the big molly was already making his way back to where the sticks were supposed to be, a competitive spark keeping his pelt puffed up long after his raucous laugh trailed away. If Webleaf was gonna be helping out, then he definitely would, too! And show Mosstumble that he was just as good at pushing sticks, never to be overlooked again! With the creak of wood under his powerful jaw, he dragged out one of the thicker branches, trotting out from behind the warrior's den in an unnecessary show of flair. Once fully emerged, he realized.. she didn't actually know if she knew what was going on. Whoops! Something about sticks, dragging snow? How'd that work, anyway?
Thumping onto her haunches, where she raised a hind leg to itch at her mane, she called out to neither clanmate in particular. Just.. whoever answered! Foot kicking ferociously, sending a few loose hairs swirling off into the winter breeze, she cocked a head as she drawled: "So, uhhhhhhhhhhhh... Who's gonna play mentor? Example time!"

As unpleasant as it was to admit, Thunderwillow was the perfect cat for the job. Loudness and all, Mosstumble was grateful for his help. They were even more grateful to see the large yellow feline returning from the warriors' den with one of the larger sticks Mosstumble had gathered. She makes it look easy... It took me forever to move that one. Thunderwillow's strength would surely make things easier for the group.
Of course, that would mean that Thunderwillow needed to know what he was doing. And, of course, she did not. Mosstumble shook their head, reminding themself that they really needed the help. "Like this, Thunderwillow."
Mosstumble pushed the stick toward the next section of the pathway. They positioned the stick horizontally so they could clear as long of a section as possible. "Once you've lined it up with the rest of the path, push the stick forward. It should clear the ground and create a wall of snow behind it. Like this." Mosstumble demonstrated the motion, pushing the stick forward. Looking at Thunderwillow, they said: "Now you try it. It's easier than it seems."
