Raising their head from their herbs with lightning speed at the sound of Pansystar's voice, Foxlily quickly abandoned their inventory check to trot into Pansystar's view. It was always exciting to have Pansystar visit, though it wasn't like it was very rare given their stations - still, hearing her voice made their tail curl with excitement. It seemed like this might be important, though, the possibilities of where their conversation might go rushing through Foxlily's mind. She took a deep breath. “Something wrong?,” she chirped as she approached Pansystar.

With a gentle wave of her tail, she beckoned for Pansystar to enter fully into the den. “If it's a private matter, don't worry - I sent Pantherpaw out to gather herbs. It's just the two of us right now.” Vocalizing that sent a ripple of equally nervous and excited energy down Foxlily's spine, but they tried to ignore it. They were both cats with important jobs and so much happening, Pansystar's intent with this visit should take priority. Still, the drumming of their heart kept their other agenda present.

Getting nearer to inspect Pansystar, Foxlily gave a tilt of their head and furrowed her brow with concern. Though the notion of Pansystar needing to talk to her about something that wasn't Clan matters made her anxious, seeing Pansystar's state activated the part of their mind that went calm with the rigidity of taking care of another cat. The need to be the grounding force in a chaotic moment. Anything is possible when you- oh. They needed to focus away from their feelings. On her first glance of Pansystar, she seemed physically okay. “I know you said that there isn't a problem, but are you sure you're okay?,” she urged gently, leaving half a tail-length between them as to not crowd a nervous cat.

Cool? Had anyone ever described her as being cool? She couldn't say she remembered it, at least not recently, but hearing it from Pansystar of all cats made the flurry of emotions that had been swirling around her chest feel like it might just puff out through her fur. Like them? Those words emboldened them forward, closing the distance they had tactically placed between the two, as if she needed a closer look to make sure this was real. “I've been meaning to talk to you about that! My feelings, that is, about you! I'd really-” Foxlily cut herself off to take an energized breath, trying to relax. “I've been trying to figure out how to tell you this but - well, I'd really like to be your mate, you just - you're one of the greatest cats I know.”

Bolder than they were used to being, she rubbed her muzzle affectionately against Pansystar's shoulder as if proving herself genuine. “If- if that's what you want too, of course,” she added bashfully, pelt heating up in a flash now that she'd granted herself a singular second to be calm.
