The first member of your group will receive a message, then run from the Training Hollow to the branch off the Golden Pond to pass that message to the second member. The second member will then run to SunChaser’s meadow, to pass the message to the third member, who will run back to camp and deliver that message to me,” Rabbitstar instructed, analyzing the group beneath him as they sat in camp before the brief journey to come. ”Once the groups are divided, we’ll walk to the Training Hollow and members will take their positions on the path along the way. I wish you all luck. With that explained, let’s get started. Harepaw , you’ll start at the Training Hollow and pass your message to Rootpaw& , who will pass that same message to Firepaw .”
Once all the teams had been divided, as promised, Rabbitstar led the group to the Training Hollow. He approached each team’s starter to give them their message. For Harepaw, he approached evenly, not wanting to seem biased for his own apprentice but proud nonetheless to see him competing. ”Your message,” he whispered, ”is: orange glows give way to plumes of white, keep on your toes for the danger each brings.”
After having given out all the messages, he leapt up a tree to count them off to start off the race with one last bid of ”good luck!”
