Daisyfire's death had hit a lot of cats hard, but it was no secret that it had hit Lionshine perhaps the hardest of all. Even Thunderwillow, who very tactfully didn't dwell on atrocities passed, wasn't blind enough to miss the way the he walked around camp like he'd lost a part of himself since the bodies were recovered from the Sunclan border. It was... difficult. Connecting with cats on a deep, emotional level didn't come easily to the molly, who generally worked best focusing on the present instead of carefully unpacking the past. Sensitivity was never his strong suit, and he knew as much, but. Seeing someone so down just didn't sit right by him, either. What could she possibly offer to Lionshine that nobody else could? What could she do to help that hadn't already been done? Maybe it was important to think of what Daisyfire might have wanted, too. Maybe...
Well. Daisyfire always was good at swimming, he found himself pondering amidst the fresh kill pile, as his blue gaze tracked the latter's adoptive sibling across the camp. But then, with such beautiful, silky fur, maybe Lionshine wasn't the type to want to get drenched. She couldn't recall, but in her experience, a lot of cats with pretty fur seemed to want to stay as far away from the water as possible. Some other form of exercise, then? Maybe...
Well. When I feel complicated, I just run like crazy!
Through rain, sleet, or snow, there was nothing that could keep Thunderwillow from barreling through the woods if it meant releasing some pent up energy, be it the regular physical kind or the rare passing worries that would cloud her usually bright exterior. Or, whatever else lay beneath her golden fur! Maybe what Lionshine needed was a good run, too, to be just as radiant. To start shining again! Perking somewhat, his passive gaze transitioned into a sharp stare, targeting the cat in question with very little room for mercy. It's the perfect plan!
"Hey! Hey, Lionshine! Hey!" Already on his paws, the tabby had thumped over to the other large cat, grin brimming with anticipation for the coming reveal.. the moment of truth, where she'd offer up her perfect proposal, and Lionshine would say yes, and they'd both run around the territory so fast they might beat the sun to its rising the next day! And then Lionshine would be happy, and he'd definitely be happy too, and then... well, basically, he was a genius.

｡ₓ ू ₒ ु ˚ Lionshine ˚ ू ₒ ु ₓ｡ Not usually one to be jumpy or shy, Lionshine felt his fur prickle briefly in surprise once Thunderwillow's booming voice finally registered in his ears. Flattening his pelt again as his focus drifted away from the nursery, his mismatched eyes briefly scanning the camp for clues as to what she might have in mind. He pulled himself up into a sit so that he was a bit closer to Thunderwillow's eye level without the full commitment of getting up fully. “Oh, hey Thunderwillow. Something going on?”Maybe they were meant to go on some sort of patrol? Thunderwillow's demeanor didn't give much away, she seemed as cheerful as ever. Just as enthusiastic and energetic as ever. That'd be fine, though two cats wasn't really a patrol... well, he'd find out soon enough. |

A bit slyly- although not without a spark of stroked delight at having his approach welcomed so seamlessly- the warrior swooped in, drawing beside his fellow big-cat with an exaggerated glance to the surrounding clanmates milling about. Then, with all the posturing of telling a secret, but none of the reserved tone to accompany it, she followed up the approach with her usual brand of candid engagement, although her shifting paws betrayed a secondary priority... but, the way Thunderwillow was, it likely wouldn't remain hidden much longer. "Hey, hey! Soooooooooooooooo.... I was wonderinnnnng... if you'd feel up to a quick trot around the territory! Just you and me!"
It wasn't regularly that the pair had shared a space together like this. After all, there was only so much room on a single patrol for two giant, gold toned felines at a time! Too many, and they might just bump into each other the whole while. But just the two of them would be much less cramped, without all the littler cats to worry about trampling or bumping into with their sheer bulk! And this time, it'd be a good opportunity for Thunderwillow to build a valuable bond with a warrior she ought to get to know a bit better, if at least to help out. "I've been thinking," He drawled for further effect, head tossing backwards as if deep in contemplation, upturned to their ancestors for guidance. "Because, everything's always changing, right? With the seasons and the stars, and all that stuff you hear from medics. But you've got a careful eye! That's why there's two colors! 'Cause you have, uh- A varied perspective! So you're practically the best cat to have out and about eyeing things up, huh?"

｡ₓ ू ₒ ु ˚ Lionshine ˚ ू ₒ ु ₓ｡ Two colors? Oh- his eyes, of course. “I don't think that's how it works,” he began, but decided to drop the subject. There was... something Thunderwillow was looking for, but Lionshine wasn't fully certain what that was. Knowing Thunderwillow, it probably wasn't too far off of what she'd already said so far, though. He supposed he'd better give a proper answer soon. Besides, someone had to make sure she didn't get lost or something. Thunderwillow was a capable warrior and he admired her candid nature, but, well... she could afford to think things through a little more. In that sense, he supposed, he would make a good exploring partner for her. “Well- if you'd like, I'd be glad to come along with you. Were you planning to head out right now, or did you have something you needed to do first? I'm not particularly busy right now, I was just keeping an eye on the nursery.” A strange turn of events, but he decided he needed a positive twist on typical Clan life. He'd rarely thought it was monotonous until now, but... Well, Thunderwillow was here to fix that. |

"Hmmmmm!" The warrior blinked wide towards the nursery, as if forgetting it were a facet of the camp. In a way, she sometimes did. "I guess you're so big, the kits could just hop into your fur and disappear for a good few moons if danger was afoot! Maybe even Swiftsnow, too, little thing fae is!" Already, he seemed to grin a little more goofily as he pictured that very scenario- Heck, maybe all of Moonclan could fit inside the two of them combined! Not that such a thing was possible, of course, because cats could only hide so well under another cat's fur, but with Lionshine's long pelt, and her bushy pelt, and being the two biggest and therefore bestest of all, then maybe they could carry everyone with them into the mountains and thensome! But, Badgerthistle would be an awful tough fit, and he kind of doubted they would be receptive to joining as a fellow carrier, and hey, was that Badgerthistle over there? Oh, it was just a big rock. Well, two big grey things could be interchangeable to the untrained eye!
..Huh? Oh yeah!
"You should go right now!" She announced abruptly, nodding several times more than needed to get the point across. "The nursery will be alright! I've seen the new litters, and one of the kits attacked my tail! So, they can definitely handle any impromptu issues. Also, so can their parents, probably!" Already, Thunderwillow whirled around to pounce energetically in the direction of the exit, landing loud and heavy a short hop away to stare at an invisible discovery. "I can practically taste the adventure ahead! It's waiting on the wind!!! And I think I hear it saying your name, too!" Lowering her voice to a stage whisper, she rasped in her best wind impression- "Lionshine, Lionshine!"

｡ₓ ू ₒ ु ˚ Lionshine ˚ ू ₒ ु ₓ｡ He afforded Thunderwillow a gentle chuckle as she tried to convince him to head out with her right that moment, and at the idea of hiding the nursery in his fur. There were quite a few big cats in MoonClan, if it were possible, he imagined they'd have enough options to fit the whole Clan in the pelts of the biggest long-furred members. The flood season might be easier if that was the case. Briefly, Lionshine wished they could live in the world Thunderwillow conjured if it meant that the littler and weaker among them didn't need to fear the season in which the rain threatened to consume them all. “Well, I'd hate to keep the wind waiting,” he mused as he pulled himself to his paws in a full stand, and approach Thunderwillow's pouncing-grounds of adventure. “Care to lead the way, then? I imagine the wind and adventure alike are getting impatient waiting for both of us. Where are we meeting them?” It was sort of fun to play along. For just a moment, it made Lionshine feel like he'd fallen into some sort of trap - a pleasant trap of good intention, but nonetheless like he'd walked right into some sort of plan. ... as much as Thunderwillow was capable of planning. He shook off the feeling, shaking out his silky coat so that anything that had been flattened while laying down would lie properly on his body once more. After all, it was getting colder as leaf-fall settled in. Best be prepared in case he needed the extra warmth. Not usually the case while exercising, though! “Try as the wind might, our trot will keep us warm.” |

Despite having his back turned to his clanmate, Thunderwillow's face still erupted in a giant grin to hear the shuffle of paws approaching her. I've done it! I've ensnared her with my powerful words and big ideas! BAAHAHAAAHAH!!! This could certainly be the feeling of the cat who caught the canary! Perhaps even a cat who'd caught several hundred, all in the shape of a cat of Lionshine's broad stature! White birds, like ducks, and yellow birds, like.
Well! What's done was done. The molly leapt up from her crouch, spinning eagerly to greet her clanmate born anew... not as just two Moonclan warriors, but as two ADVENTURERS! "Whoa-ho-ho! Now that's the spirit I like to hear, Li! You've got just what I need!" With immediate vigor, the tabby began an onwards trot, lifting her legs high and proud with every pace- and then remembered there was still some prepwork to complete! Right, right! Foxlily wouldn't treat a wound without the poppy seeds to start! Backstepping some, Thunderwillow played off the fact that she'd just about left the conversation wide open, electing now to lean in to tell Lionshine.. the ultimate truth! "Here's what I'm thinkin'... We'll go upland! There's a lot of freshened territory now that the floods are over, so all the little mice and stuff are moving back in! We should go... opposite of them! So we don't bother hunters!" With a pleased lift of the head, he awaited added, "See, see? I thought of just about everything!"

｡ₓ ू ₒ ु ˚ Lionshine ˚ ू ₒ ु ₓ｡ Well, he had to appreciate that Thunderwillow was making an effort to think things through. “That's a good point,” he conceded, smiling at his temporary traveling companion. “You really have thought about this a lot, huh? Let's get going then, we should take advantage of what your plan offered us.” He took a few steps in the direction that Thunderwillow had previously been attempting to go in, thought kept his eyes on her. Just in case she decided she wanted to go a different direction, or something. That, and, well, Lionshine felt almost... cautious, for reasons she couldn't quite explain. As if wandering out of the camp would make it the last time either of them returned to it. Not that that made any sense, though, they'd both gone and returned several times before! “If we go upland, we'll even be able to look down and see some of what's changed after the water's left, right? A bird's eye view,” she added in effort to distract himself from the unjustified nerves, and to show Thunderwillow that he too would look at ways to make the best of their expedition. No "i" in Clan, but an "us" in victorious, as they said. Probably. |

Lionshine's approval was all she needed to trot after him, overtaking the warrior's lead to quite literally begin dancing circles around the other. All in good spirit, of course, but also the barely repressed motivation to get go-go-going! Validated in the little research she'd done to make her pitch- research being some hastily pulled together intuition parroting something she might've heard a different, more observant clanmate discuss while scolding her- Thunderwillow's enthusiasm had expanded to even greater ambitions, pushed further by the other's affirmation. "You're right! A bird's eye view! I mean, if we wanted, maybe we could go so far as to see the entire territory!" With a shake of the mane for extra thoughtfulness, like rattling his ideas around for a bonus, the statement in itself seemed to plant a seed... Upland...
Well, where was higher than the mountains? Where better than to give Lionshine exactly what she was looking for? Now that's a dream come true! Teach a lion to fly and he'll never frown again! Yup! After all, the higher you were, the closer to the moon and sun, and the closer to Starclan, and, well.. That was all good, right? It was calling uplifting for a reason! The upper the better! "Hmm... I have an extra good idea! Let's go! No daylight to waste!" Already, the molly was halfway out the exit!

Lionshine bounded after Thunderwillow, his initial steps much faster so that he was shoulder to shoulder with the amber cat. “What do you have in mind, then?,” she asked as she caught up with Thunderwillow's bold steps and could look properly at his face. “... is there anywhere in the territory that's that high up?” The afterthought manifested itself aloud. The entire territory? Well, if they did it by paw, they'd certainly need to utilize all the daylight that they could. Still, given their hardly forgotten topic of birds and their view, it was hard to think that he might mean anything else. |

"Ohoho!" Guffawing to Lionshine's side, the molly flashed him an ambitious glance, although not without a glimmer of pride to soften her otherwise intense demeanor. "It's a special day when someone's asking my opinion! You're in luck, though. All that thinkin' I did earlier? Well, I thought even harder than just the big part! I've even thought of some details!" It wasn't entirely a lie. Although he hadn't come up with much of the specific planning until just a few seconds ago, voicing his thoughts to his clanmate had refreshed his mind enough to spark new inspiration! Upland, upland! Upper and upper! He almost pondered if he should even fill the other in just yet, or make it a big, exciting surprise for her. After all, Lionshine wasn't the bravest cat around. Not cowardly, by any means, but sometimes all that common sense got in the way of following your heart! And for Thunderwillow, who had a very big heart proportional to her very big body, the tug of adventure was irresistible. If he can resist it so easily.. I wonder what that means? Hmmm!
But all of that was already much more precognition than she was used to providing. Surprises were no match for Thunderwillow's impatience! Already made eager by her very brief secret, it was impossible not to spread the word and let someone else in on the thrill. "We should go to the mountain slope!" Grinning wide, he seemed to step a little faster- as if unloading the idea had lightened his body, made it swifter. As if the prospect of rejection hadn't crossed his mind! Which it hadn't! Because who wouldn't wanna go somewhere as cool as a giant rock? "We'll get fresh leafbare on our noses! Wayyyy earlier than everyone else! Maybe even see some stars drifting here and there! Or clouds! Or birds!"
