Rock Bustin' ; Geode-hunting with Needlesong! // OPEN

He wasn't sure if he was quite convinced on this whole geode stress relief mission, but, well- Needlesong was deputy now. It was mundane, but it wasn't an immediate problem, so Badgerthistle would let it slip free from his sharp tongue. Truthfully, he'd rather train - the imagery of the dead bodies being brought into camp was seared into their mind, and he would need to face a greater absolution than death to let SunClan get away with it. Still, though, that just meant that they couldn't very well allow their Clanmates to make themselves vulnerable. No, if they needed this brief moment of reprieve before they could handle the turn of events like proper warriors, Badgerthistle would give them that. It was enough for him to hear them have fun, if they managed it.

With this mission in mind, he sat on the outskirts of the group, near the river and keeping a slow, steely scan across the area. He would not be snuck upon.

His ears perked at the approach of a cat, and he watched with slow moving eyes as Swiftsnow trotted closer until she asked her question. “I wouldn’t say I’m alone,” he mused with a gentle angle of his ears. “I’m still with the group, just on the perimeter. I’m keeping guard. Someone’s got to keep everyone safe so that they can have fun, right? Go find your crystals, Swiftsnow, I’ll make sure everything’s alright.” With that, Badgerthistle pulled their visual attention away from the little queen so that they could return to their scan of the area. So far, so clear. Good. SunClan would be foolish to even get near MoonClan territory at a time like this, but should an eager personality arise, Badgerthistle would oblige to making them aware of their mistake.

He almost hoped they would.

With the feeling of little paws on his chest, Badgerthistle’s eyes were drawn down to meet the matching pale blue gaze of Swiftsnow. “There’s no need to worry,” they purred, tone still light with amusement. Queen was certainly a better fit for the little cat. Faer concerns were much more in line with those of a doting parent than those of a warrior ready for combat without so much as a moment’s notice. “Keeping guard like this and making sure everyone else is safe makes me happy. Idle paws don’t suit me, but I would hate to have you fret over me like this when you’ve got something you’d enjoy waiting for you. Go join the others.”
