Fallenpetal lay in the nest provided for her in the medicine cat den, she'd been rather silent since that day. Almost refusing to speak about the whole matter except to Rabbitstar when questioned what had happened. She was unable to descriptor the look on their leaders face afterwards, she hadn't even been able to apologize to Honeyflare for dragging him into a fight that could have been avoided had she just been paying attention or at least it could have gone better. She hadn't even been able to fight, her wounds were healing and in order not to have her body go completely stiff Sloe____ had her get up and go to sit outside the den. She supposed its so she wouldn't get stir crazy from looking at the same den walls for sunrises, it was about that time but Fallenpetal was in no mood to move today. Everything hurt and she didn't mean just her injuries the tight feeling in her chest never went away since their retreat, she hadn't lifted a paw and because of that Honeyflare ended up with worse injuries then herself even before they had arrived she could have done something instead she had stood there taunting the cat like she had a chance to fight it alone. She was so lost in her thoughts she never heard anyone enter and since she faced the wall of the den no flicker of movement caught her eye.

- + - Brookshine - + - It was… weird to not see Fallenpetal out and about. Partially in general due to the injury, but this was also the time of day in which Fallenpetal tended to get up to keep her wounds from getting too stiff. Brookshine had already seen Honeyflare out and about, so where was her sister? Worry nagged at her, so she padded over towards the medicine cats’ den. Sure enough, she saw Fallenpetal. It didn’t seem like she’d been noticed, though. They hesitated, cautiously poking their nose in before taking a few meek steps. “Fallenpetal?” They spoke before they got too close, hoping to not scare the older cat. Especially if it startled her enough to make her move sharply and agitate the wounds. All the same, Brookshine paddled forward, white paws moving slowly and gently. Like she might shake the ground too hard otherwise. “Are you doing alright? I haven’t seen you around camp today. Do you need me to go get the medicine cat for you?” Seeing Fallenpetal like this… it was strange. Like most of her family, Brookshine considered her to be powerful and talented. To think that she might disappear and come back so… defeated… it was frightening. They didn’t want to show that, though, and kept their paws firmly planted. Hopefully a visitor wasn’t so unwelcome. |

The sound of a voice brought Fallenpetal from her thoughts slow blinks helped her eyes begin to focus on the wall in front of her as the other spoke again she recognized the voice as Brookshine's someone she hadn't really expected to visit her especially since she had seen her family about camp when she was out but they hadn't exactly interacted. Realizing Brookshine was asking her something Fallenpetal focused she held back the sigh that wanted to escape, slowly and carefully the she-cat moved so that she could face her younger sibling who had recently become a warrior. "I'm alright Brookshine, I just didn't want to go out today." she replied softly the usual shine in her eyes absent. Her mind threatening to take her back into her own thoughts but she fought to stay vigilant in front of her sister.

- + - Brookshine - + - Brows knit together with concern, Brookshine tilted her head just slightly. “I thought you needed to stretch every now and then?” Despite her words, that wasn't so much of what she was worried about. What she was worried about was largely the way Fallenpetal's eyes looked. Empty. Defeated. Gently padding to a spot close to Fallenpetal's current nest, Brookshine sat down with her head dipped in concern. “Um- do you... do you want to talk about it at all? I've been worried about how you've been feeling, that must have been... scary.” It didn't quite feel like the right thing to say, but she had no other clues as to what was. They'd just have to make do with those. |

Fallenpetal could see that she was worrying her sister and it wasn't something she wanted to do but she couldn't pretend anymore. The few days following the attack that happened she had tried to look alright like she didn't regret anything from that day but now, now she just couldn't there was so many things running through her mind that could have been done differently, paying attention would have been a large factor as well as putting her feelings aside and bringing someone with her to begin with maybe a couple of cats considering. Even if she had to ask them just to walk with her and politely decline speaking with them. With the medicine cat den currently empty except the two Fallenpetal thought about speaking with Brookshine but she was unsure as to how long they might have before the other two returned. So she decided to do what she should be doing anyway, "Come lets talk somewhere else, maybe I'll venture a little further today." she suggested as she carefully got to her paws stepping forward with slower steps as she felt her pelt stretch thankfully few of her wounds had scabs left just a couple had yet to turn to the lighter skin indicating that she was on her way to being alright but the ones that were slower were to ones keeping her in the med. den.

- + - Brookshine - + - It was a bit ominous, but still a relief to hear Fallenpetal ask to go elsewhere. Brookshine got to her paws quickly, staying dutifully by Fallenpetal’s side once they were in position for the motion, her tail curling just slightly at the tip. “It’s good to see you up,” she commented with a shy smile. “Did you have somewhere in mind? I don’t want to strain your wounds too much, but whatever you think you can handle I’ll be right alongside you.”Ah, the supporting role Brookshine craved. Being a medicine cat was… too much, but to be able to help her Clanmates, especially her family, with little things so that they could focus on their goals? It was the most satisfying part for her. She waited patiently, a little bit of the tension now having dissipated from her shoulders. |

Fallenpetal looked at her younger sibling and attempted a weak smile as she thought about where they might go, if she was honest with herself seeing the camp wasn't what she wanted today if she were going to go out she would at least try to get outside the camp even if it was just outside the entrance so that she could look at more then the same scenery that she's stared at since she was injured. As she made her way out of the medicine cat den with Brookshine close to her she was careful not to step too far apart. Still, she was slowly able to make her way towards the entrance hoping another wouldn't stop them though she would just explain she was going to sit just outside and not wander from the camp enough to warrant worry. "Just outside seems alright, we won't go any further than just outside. I'm just a little tired of camp," she replied to them.

- + - Brookshine - + - They nodded with a gentle nudge of affection to Fallenpetal's chest, making sure to keep away from injuries. “It's nice outside right now, I think it'll do you some good to see it,” they commented. They stayed close, just in case, but gladly followed whatever Fallenpetal's lead was. After all, they were out there for her benefit. Whatever spot made Fallenpetal happiest was more than fine with Brookshine. “I wouldn't mind coming out here with you more often, you know. If the camp is getting stuffy for you or you're just too bored, well... I try to stick around camp most of the time. It probably wouldn't be too hard to get me.” |

Fallenpetal let out a soft purr when Brookshine nudged her once they had stopped walking the whisper of the breeze as it shifted through the long blades of grass just starting to change colour as the seasons changed. The she-cat took in a long deep breath before moving off to the side, the meadows lush vegetation stomped down from so many paws she picked to lay in the springy meadow grass where the ground had become slight uneven with the mounds gently laying down with her upper body on one of the mounds and leaning the rest of her body against it. "Ah that's much better, took a whisker but worth it." she chuckled as she looked back towards Brookshine "Camp's always stuffy, to many asked questions." she meowed rolling her eyes slightly. "It's what makes me feel so useless, I did nothing when I was attacked Honeyflare got the brunt end because of it. I was of no help just tucked my tail and ran back when asked to." she grumbled.

- + - Brookshine - + - Settling down so that she was facing Fallenpetal, Brookshine listened intently. They could only imagine the feeling of having every cat swarming to ask questions of any variety. “If I were you, I might've tried to flee camp already,” they half-joked, twitching their whiskers in good humor. Still, their ears angled slightly downwards with sympathy. “I don't think you're useless, Fallenpetal.”It was an easy reassurance to make, and while she meant it earnestly, Brookshine had to briefly pause to find a good way to elaborate. It was easy to be told things, it was a lot harder to be made to believe them. “Your injuries were severe, too. Honeyflare had the upper paw in this situation - he ambushed the other cat. In your situation, you were the one ambushed. If the roles were reversed... I think someone might be having this conversation with him instead.” Brookshine smiled softly at Fallenpetal, but frowned as she looked at nothing in particular. “... besides. I think Honeyflare drew out that fight longer than it needed to last. He only needed to escort you back to camp, he might've been able to come out of that unscathed. I can't say I would have done any better, but... well, if he were going to temporarily blind that cat anyway, he should have done it from the beginning. It would have been better for you both.” |

Fallenpetal let out a sigh taking a moment to look at the swaying grass "Would I have been ambushed had I been paying attention though? With everything that was going on losing focus when I was by myself believing I'd be fine not to pay attention in our territory even after the mysterious death of Beestar... I didn't even notice the other cat and it was a large cat to hide." she huffed now bitter at her thoughts though as she thought about the fight she realized Brookshine was correct in the fact that Honeyflare did not have to draw it out as long as he had, they could have had a better outcome. "I think he became mad when hearing about his mother spoken about so coldly like the life of another truly did not matter." she explained her thoughts knowing that had the roles been reversed she probably would have reacted the same way as well.

- + - Brookshine - + - Brookshine frowned. “Beestar went off at night - none of us would expect to be attacked in our own territory in broad daylight. Large or not, cats are taught to be able to hide, to stalk from where they won't be noticed by even the most skittish prey. You may have been ambushed even if you were paying attention. Or, maybe that cat would've chosen a different cat to ambush. Who knows how many of us passed it without noticing, who knows how long it was in our territory - it's more important that we don't get caught up in the past, I think.” They nudged their head against Fallenpetal gently, but affectionately. “Don't you find it just a little ironic that you're stuck worrying about the past, things you can't change, when that's exactly what you credit for the reason you got attacked?”That was the easy part. Reassurances and insistence that her family could move the stars, those came easily to Brookshine. She believed those ideas, after all. To think about what a cat she didn't know very well like Honeyflare should've done in a situation like this, though, it was difficult. Especially when she hadn't been there. Especially when even mundane confrontation was so frightening for Brookshine. “... that was very cruel of that cat, though, to say those things. Even more a shame that Honeyflare had to hear it. Still... I wish he'd learn to control his temper a little better. It seems anger just makes everyone get hurt much worse.” |

Fallenpetal flicked her ears realizing she had been thinking about everything that had happened when she had been attacked, Brookshine was right about one thing she needed to get out of her head a little more and actually just begin to live her life day by day. Show that she could provide and defend the clan like she had been raised and mentored to do, if not what was the point of being around, just to be another mouth to feed? No that's not the type of cat she was she would show the others what she was capable of. She might not make friends or anything while she proved herself but that would be fine she still had her family. Not that she talked to many of them other then Brookshine now, but she could change that too. "Alright Brookshine I get it." she chuckled than thought about Honeyflare it had been a shame that he seemed to appear at the moment that, that cat had mentioned his murdered mother but if had taken a moment to assess before jumping in he could have realized that it was better to leave then to let his anger rampage though she supposed that's where the flare in his name came from she grinned at that "As for Honeyflare maybe he just needs to find his balance." she meowed allowing her tail to flick a bit the movement not bothering her like it did.

- + - Brookshine - + - Curling her tail with pride, Brookshine smiled brightly, purring loudly at her sister. “Well, I'm glad if that means I was able to help you at all, Fallenpetal. I've always thought you were a wonderful warrior, you shouldn't doubt yourself so much.” That was her role in the family, to make them all see how bright they shone, right? It seemed they really were capable of it. As for Honeyflare... “... well, I don't really know how to help Honeyflare with that. Still, I hope he finds that balance soon, then. That was... scary, that day that you two came back to camp like that. I hope it never happens again.” Brookshine glanced away, looking at nothing in particular. “I mean- I know we're warriors, but... that was just so much different. It was cruel. We should feel safe in our own territory.” |

Fallenpetal looked at her sister "Of course you help Brookshine, your always there for us when we need another to talk to. I hope you know you can do the same, I am here if you want to talk or need to just get out with someone I am around and always have the time for you." she meowed. She had a feeling her sister didn't always take the time for herself but Fallenpetal had seen her visiting the other members of their family and helping them but never asking for help herself. AS for Fallenpetal putting herself down that would be something the she-cat would have to work on but it would come in time. "The attack was very unexpected, but it brought light issues that the clan needs to work on as well. We can't always expect other cats to respect borders, or honour things when that isn't how they live as well." she meowed consideringly.
