SPEAKER OF CLAWS Humble Bone decided to slink nearby where their family had mostly stayed. She hadn't been around in some time, having kept to herself in the mountains for her studies and learning about the lands for a few moons. He was well aware of the incident with Pearl, a small sting coming back to mind at the remembrance.
As he stepped within the lands bordering SunClan, he knew his littermate would be nearby. It always was, simply hanging around and throwing around its weight with clan cats and others that lingered too close. Nothing Humble was too interested in personally, though she wasn't going to stop it. She wasn't a fusser like Pearl had been.
"Marrow, what messes have you caused as of late?" was all they said, knowing it would be around and could hear them.

There was a beat of silence before Marrow stepped out from behind a rock, paws smeared with fresh blood - whether it was from a clan cat or recently caught prey was anyone's guess. It regarded Humble Bone for a long moment before sheathing its claws, speaking up in a low growl,
"So, the enigmatic Humble Bone finally takes a break from its oh-so-important business to come see his only living litter-mate. What an honor." It sarcastically sneered, eyes narrowing, "what do you want?"
Marrow wasn't stupid. Humble Bone wouldn't come to it so readily if she didn't need its assistance with something. It wasn't necessarily that it wouldn't help, it did still appreciate its siblings and Humble Bone had done nothing to directly break its trust just yet, but it had every right to be suspicious of its sibling's intentions.

SPEAKER OF CLAWS Its whiskers twitched, annoyed rather than alarmed, giving a short huff. "Am I not allowed to visit my family when I am allowed a break from my studies?" She then approached her littermate, thin tail swaying behind her. "Do you not clean your paws after doing whatever business you find yourself doing?" Whatever he wanted would be gotten to eventually and on his time.

"You never come to me without business in mind, you dirty rat." It huffed, ignoring Humble Bone's comments in favor of focusing on the more important parts of the conversation at hand, moving forth so it has its sibling on its left side, always ready to attack if need be.
"You caught me at a bad time, I'm sure someone even as battle-shy as you could tell what fresh blood looks like." It huffed. "I keep as clean as you do. Dried blood would limit my mobility far too much."

SPEAKER OF CLAWS He gave a roll of his eyes. "I prefer staying pristine. It makes others more intrigued by me rather than hostile," she huffed, keeping her eyes on it. It calmly curled its tail over its paws as it took a seat. "But I do have a fair share of 'jobs' you could help me with."
"It's nothing out of the ordinary for you. I simply need you to be more of a pest for the clan cats." They glanced out towards the territories. "I would also like it if you would direct rogues to me, in one way or another. Chase them up the rocks yourself if you have to."

"Pestering the clans I can certainly do, I still haven't killed the one who took my eye yet..." It rumbled, sitting down as well after a moments hesitation, starting to lick the blood off its paws, "what for, though? If I am going to be involved in your little schemes, I'm going to want to be more than just a tool for you to use." It snorted, squinting at him once again.
"What did you learn up there that makes you want to form a group all of a sudden?"

SPEAKER OF CLAWS They hummed, thinking a moment. Should it divulge what it knows..? Their pearly gaze landed on their littermate, judging it almost before they gave a sigh. "I suppose you can learn."
"A great beast came to me in a dream, promising me power if I sought it in the mountains. And it wouldn't leave me be until I reached the point the waters fall from." She fixed her gaze back onto the mountains now. "And once I reached that peak, I found... artifacts that it undoubtedly wanted me to find. And I've been studying them and learning to read nature with the help of these items and the beast." He sighed a little, glancing back at Marrow once more. "And now I live up there, and it wants more to join me and learn the truth about these lands."

Marrow paused for a long moment, its one good eye searching its siblings face for any sign of lies or make-believe. When it found none, it sat there for another moment, considering, grumbling out a small "of course you of all cats would get into a situation with forces beyond your control..." Before properly speaking up again.
"I would be willing to aid you however you would like so long as I am the first to hear of any discoveries you make." It huffed, clearly unwilling to move on the offer, "You are still my sibling, when it comes down to it, and I will protect you and whatever pursuits you make so long as you extend that same loyalty to me."

SPEAKER OF CLAWS It blinked a little, surprised for once. They hadn't entirely believed that Marrow would so willingly join them on this endeavor. That surprise was hidden away fairly quickly though, her mask of calm returning. "... That can be arranged. But I need you to vow not to tell other cats about my- our studies. We need to ease them into what is true about these lands." She paused briefly before sighing once more and giving it a small, friendly bump against its shoulder. "Thank you."

It nodded in response to their words before letting out a small grunt at the bump, butting its head against her cheek after a moment, "my loyalty lies with my family first and foremost, Snowy. You need protection, and I'm here to provide it, simple as that. You need not thank me."

It meowed, peering over at the Sunclan territories, "if I could give myself a Moonclan scent and leave a few scars on lone warriors and apprentices, then..." It licked its lips in thought, "yes. I believe that would work." |

SPEAKER OF CLAWS Humble gave a light purr before nodding along with what its sibling said. "You would have some ease traveling along the river. on the end closest to us they have their little gathering place, and at the far end, by the mountains, they have their neutral holy grounds," she hummed. "I would say their gathering place would be best, their scents all linger there and you can certainly try muddying yours."
He then fixed a look onto it, giving it a vague warning. "Don't get too caught up in your spiteful antics; we need them to be at each other's throats and not ours."

It nodded along thoughtfully, seeming to quietly lay out a plan in its head, "brief me on what I should know to hold a convincing dialogue? I've forgotten a lot of names, they're not often relevant to what I do, if you can imagine."
It listened to her warning, but ultimately scoffed, "I will hold off for now. I will hunt down my quarry another time." It snorted, "I did not live this long by not having a sense of self-control."

SPEAKER OF CLAWS It gave a small roll of its eyes before snipping in return, "Of course, of course, forgive me for assuming my kin who seeks out fights would know when to hold back." He then reeled himself back a little in order to explain.
"There are the clan names, you already know those. The pool at the mountains is known as the Moon Pond, and their medicine cats speak to their ancestors "StarClan" there." She swayed her head a little as she recalled more information she gathered. "I'm aware of their leaders, MoonClan's is Pansystar. Beestar is... taken care of, but I'm not aware of who their replacement is." Certainly not that cat, they mused privately, recalling the SunClanner they had met. He seemed to lack the proper spine and air for a leader.

"I'll do a bit of scouting near their camp later to figure that out." It hummed, dropping the topic of their revenge-quest for the moment, "but, really? A religious place and possible ritual for their ancestors? I would say you made that up if not for the fact that I know you wouldn't lie to me about something as important as that." It snorted in disbelief, truly amused by the notion.
""Taken care of?" Did you finally get your paws dirty, then?" It purred, "is that why you have this?" It lightly - very lightly - brushed against the scar across his belly.

"And yes," he continued, "They seem fairly devoted to their stars, but are almost all clueless to their ways aside from their leaders and healers."
