Wishkit Intro Thread <3 - OPEN!

“Well, there goes that moss ball,” Lionshine mused on instinct, his path having been intercepted by Wishkit’s playing. It wasn’t as if he was doing anything right now, anyway, his big plans having been to sunbathe while he waited for the dusk patrol he was scheduled for. He had a good amount of time before that struck. “Hunting moss, Wishkit, or defending the Clan from a green enemy?” The joke wasn’t said in mean spirits, more so the easy entertainment and fondness that came from watching kits playing their games. The overly enthusiastic view of Clan life, it made him nostalgic, reminded him of his own kithood. He decided he’d see if Wishkit was interested in other cats today.

That same easy amusement continued to warm his features. It seemed the kit did know a thing or two about how to do them, though his mind hovered idly around the little flaws. That was what apprenticeship was for, though, no need to bog down her games with the technicalities of the life of a warrior. “Good job,” he praised just as easily. “There are a lot of ways to help you sneak up on prey and enemies a lot.” He then gestured at the shredded ball of moss.

“I can only wonder hat that enemy did to you. All I know is that I wouldn’t want to be in their paw, that’s for sure.”

Lionshine opted to sit down in his amusement. “Moss balls clearly don’t have things very well planned out, then. They clearly aren’t strong enough - probably not much of a fight, huh?” She gestured at the moss on the kit’s fur. “Though, they’re probably the only enemies that that could work on. A warrior is always resourceful, if you keep that and honor in mind, I’m sure your future mentor will be impressed.”

Well, at the very least, Lionshine was impressed that the young cat had already considered scent. Just hope she doesn’t try to shred any actual cats like that - not sure how a cat would even handle that explanation.

Ah, of course. He wasn’t sure why he’d expected her to know about a concept that was a bit abstract like that. When he’d first come to the Clan as a kit, he too had been confused about honor.

… Then again, his family certainly hadn’t had much to speak of.

“Honor is about doing the right thing, and remembering to respect others - even your enemies. It’d be dishonorable to tear a cat apart like that, even if you were physically capable of it. It’d strip them of their dignity. It’s fine for moss and other plants, but not for cats or prey.” He paused, and titled his head at her. “Does that make any sense to you?”

He purred, and nodded approvingly. “That’s right - the Warrior’s Code even reminds us of this. You especially shouldn’t kill unless absolutely necessary - some things can never be undone, and that’s one of them. Even killing a leader would cause one of their lives to be entirely gone forever, and that would be pretty mean, wouldn’t it?” Was that too much to say to a kit? He hoped not. That was also something that couldn’t be undone, those words had been said and he’d just have to deal with it. Regardless of what that meant. “Defending yourself and your Clan are one thing, but attacking just to make your opponent suffer is an entirely different thing.”

“I think it's safe to say that we have more than nine cats in the Clan,” Lionshine affirmed. It seemed to have really bummed out the Wishkit, though, so Lionshine gave her a playful nudge with his paw. “That's easy stuff for the greatest warrior in the Clan, right? All you've got to do is remember that prey and enemies alike are still alive, just like you and all your Clanmates.”
