▸HUMBLE BONE◂ SPEAKER OF CLAWS Humble gave a dismissive shrug, glancing over their shoulder for a short beat, as though aware Pyre was there before their attention returned to Tinyleaf. "Every cat has a destiny, and yet not everyone can take up the mantle of a leader." She gave a small tilt of her head. "How would you know if the stars had plans for you if you were never taught to listen to them?"
It closed its eyes, head now tilting up to the sky briefly before it opened them again. "I could teach you, if you wanted. The stars, the night, and even the earth beneath our paws have spoken to me for some time now." He glanced down at him once more. "I think every cat should be given the chance to learn." ▸ speaks in "bold #e176e0" ▫ attack in bold italic #e176e0 ◂ © Artificial-Radiance

The idea of a destiny without clan importance didn't click right with the warrior, shown in the anxious backpedal of his paws from the Moonpond, albeit just a few steps. Big plans, whispers from the earth itself... those weren't things he ever learned about in his training. Those weren't things anyone regular was just supposed to know. Being offered that knowledge might tempt some, but for someone as straitlaced as Tinyleaf, it only felt wrong. More unsettled now by Humble Bone's charity than he'd ever been their demeanor, he shied away from its shadow, pawing his herbs after him as he shook his head. "I can't do that sort of thing. I mean- It's awfully kind of you, but it's definitely not my place. I'm a Sunclan warrior. So.. even if there's things out there I don't know, it won't help my clan for me to know them." Stepping back again, back away from the two-toned spotlights of her piercing gaze, he dipped his muzzle out of courtesy. Regardless of how strange this encounter had been, every cat was owed that minimal respect. After all, they were on neutral territory, and Humble Bone had hardly done anything but extend an offer. In a way, it almost made him feel ashamed to reject it... but what use is learning to a cat who only needs to hunt and fight? Thinking of hearing secret messages like those meant for his superiors, possibly even from sources outside of Starclan, felt alarmingly isolating. The only guidance he needed was that which was permitted from his leader- the kind of guidance he wouldn't get in trouble for receiving, should it be found out he was taking dubious lessons from loners behind everyone's back. "I guess that means there's not much I can do for you. Or, uh- You for me." Would it be okay to end things after a conversation like that?
Well, it had to be. His clan needed him home and able pawed, ready for anything that could happen. Not out here, debating spirituality or learning interpretation when he was anything but qualified, much less approved for the job. The last thing Rabbitstar should have to deal with was one of his warriors striking out on their own, not this soon into a fresh leadership.

▸HUMBLE BONE◂ SPEAKER OF CLAWS She watched him keenly, the soft glow of her gaze suddenly seeming icy despite her continued calm. "I see." They stood, taking a precise step near him before speaking again. "If you ever change your mind, or know of ones that may want my lessons, don't hesitate to find me again." And then it moved away smoothly, leaving him a promise. And as he turned away, he paused, looking over his shoulder.
"You never provided your name to me, little warrior. I like to keep note of acceptions and rejections." There was almost a faint edge to their voice, something you'd have to strain to hear, but just present enough to show that they had some time of power in this situation. That this was a question that needed a careful answer, despite how simple it was. All she was doing, after all, was requesting his name. After all, it gave its own to him. It was nothing but polite to give an honest answer. ▸ speaks in "bold #e176e0" ▫ attack in bold italic #e176e0 ◂ © Artificial-Radiance

With the pace towards him, Tinyleaf blinked, wide and innocent, at the span of Humble Bone's now turned back. For a moment, just a moment, he could've sworn it'd looked at him with something ominous in their eyes, the sweet pink of a spring flower doing nothing to offset the hint of threat that'd swelled in the atmosphere between them. And yet... just as quickly, the feeling had passed, leaving him believing he must have misunderstood somehow. After all, if she had any intention of harming him, it would have happened already. Logically! So there was probably nothing to worry about. Not with this big loner who hadn't raised a claw in his direction. Knowing he hadn't offended it to the point of full retraction, he was mostly just comforted to part ways on at least neutral terms. With that interpretation in his heart, ever optimistic, he had no qualms about providing his name. Some cats were just prickly, sometimes- that didn't mean anything was wrong, and it certainly wasn't right now.
"Oh, I guess I didn't." With a bashful dip of the head, lingering almost into something like a bow, he provided his address. "I'm Tinyleaf. Um... I know I couldn't help you much today, but if you ever would like to come see our healer, you can mention that you've met me. I'd vouch for your visitation, and you could probably learn much more. So.. I'll be sure to remember your name, too."
