Tired but relieved, Foxlily turned a weary gaze to the other queen. Assisting a kitting was a draining but rewarding experience alone, with the addition of cats who had dealt with a fox attack...? She was pretty sure she wasn't going to get out of her nest for at least a day. “While I can't say anything about having won or not, it seems... like everyone's okay. The fox certainly hasn't come back.” They observed from a distance. “How do you feel?”

They tilted their head in observation. “Well- I suppose the treatment I managed while you were unconscious must be helping,” she thought aloud before perking her ears at the question. “Yes, I am! My name is Foxlily, I'm the MoonClan medicine cat. Might I ask who you are? You don't seem to be from around here, at least not from either of the Clans. Do you know these SunClan cats?”

She furrowed her brows. Housecat? She would have to assume it was an outsider's word for kittypets, given the context of a need to "escape". That wasn't particularly reassuring, though. “So you're- you're alone?,” they asked, almost incredulous. Why would an expecting queen risk such a thing? “Isn't that a bit risky? It's already put you in danger, I can't imagine that your own kitting will be easy if there aren't any cats around to help. Especially if there aren't trained cats to help!” Foxlily kneaded their claws in the ground below as they thought about it. This group here had been lucky that she'd shown up, but Foxlily's priority was her own Clan! She might not be there next time. That was just the actual kitting, the plethora of other potential issues was enough to make her head spin with worry.

She was still skeptical. “I don’t understand- why not join up with other cats? I understand leaving if your twolegs are dangerous, but if you know at least one other cat, then… well, why not stick together? It’s certainly safer than being on your own like this.” She glanced between the two other cats. They smelled of SunClan to her, so whoever Amaris was… it seemed unlikely to be one of them. Must be another loner, she noted mentally. “… your kits will be so young when leaf-bare comes, too. Even after they’re born, it’d be much safer for you and them alike to find some cats to stay with. Clan or not, there’s safety in numbers.”

Foxlily flicked their tail to gesture at the scene around them. “I hate to say it, but this could have been so much worse. A kitting queen being attacked by a fox all alone? I can’t imagine it going well.”

She tilted her head, ears angled in sympathy. “I’m sorry to hear that- still, I couldn’t say much for loner groups in the area, but you could always try one of the Clans. You’ve already met two SunClan cats, and of course, I’m from MoonClan so that’s where my preferences lie - but frankly it sounds like you’re closer to SunClan territory. If they don’t catch your fancy, though, MoonClan is just across the river. I’m sure it wouldn’t take long for a cat to catch your scent, and I doubt any warriors will attack a pregnant queen. If you decide to approach either territory with intent to join, I’m sure you’ll be safe.” It wasn’t as if she was in much position to say how well these efforts would go - she couldn’t admit cats into her own Clan let alone SunClan - but as far as Foxlily could understand… the suggestion was the safest.

Foxlily wrinkled their nose with the hint of dismay. “I’d really recommend looking into it before your kitting. I think it’s the safest option, I know the Clans have been… unusual, lately, but it’s safer than being alone. I can’t force you to do anything you don’t want to, of course, but I still strongly suggest it.” Glancing about the small group, Foxlily gestured vaguely in the direction she originally came from. “Well! What with the kits born and two SunClan cats to escort them, if there isn’t anything else I’m needed for I suppose I’ll be returning to my Clan. I feel as though I’ve been gone long enough, I’m sure my apprentice is worried about where I’ve gone off to.”
