IF YOU DON'T GO OUTSIDE WELL NOTHING'S GONNA HAPPEN ― It was a quiet and peaceful day in camp. With the small bush of wild flowers nearby, the last few drops of rain dissipating, and all the wildlife waking up with the new day, all was going well. The small den not far from the bustling of chattering cats was always slow, even despite the young cats bustling inside it throughout the morning hours. Nothing ever happened in there, which was considered a good thing for it's only current resident. No pranks, no disturbances, and there was still a quiet stream pouring in from the entrance.
The flowers bloomed in the lonely structure, and the petals caught in crossing winds that found their way to the river streams, and scented the water beautifully. And among that beautifully scented water, while it was quiet at first, eventually the sound of humming could be heard. It was a peaceful tune, though it was a difference occurrence than usual.
And, for the unsuspecting cat who planned to hide from their superiors, they were likely to come across the source of this melody. In the dimly lit area, there sat a small figure. It was unmoving ― possibly able to be mistaken for a statue, only able to be identified as not by their face, which was fairly illuminated by the streams of light from above.
There sat Wrenpaw ― a sad sight, indeed. He seemed to be mulling over some thoughts, such as where he belonged, what was in the area, and where to go. Perhaps he was thankful that his limp hind was hidden, but it would not be easily told through his solemn expression. This would be quite the challenging interaction.

**✿❀ Daisyfire ❀✿** “Wrenpaw! There you are, everything alright?,” Daisyfire greeted, friendliness in full swing. She had just escaped the medicine den, getting her accursed joints treated for their perpetual ache, and so her mood was in the lighter spectrum whilst the pain was dulled. Though her flat face made scenting difficult, she’d manage to catch the scent of her apprentice, and felt it her duty to see how he was faring. He seemed quite gloomy a good portion of the time - something Daisyfire couldn’t relate to - and so she did her best to keep up with where his mood was at any given day. ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* Shrikepaw *:・゚✧*:・゚✧ " Yeah Wrenpaw, what's up? Why the long face, when you've found such a pretty hollow," Shrikepaw mewed, popping out of the undergrowth. Having slid away from whatever responsibilities she held for the day, the young apprentice had been happy to spot one of her fellows on his own. Unfortunately, he seemed too glum to be of any fun right now. I don't get why he'd be so upset. Maybe it's because Daisyfire's caught him slacking. But Daisyfire seemed just as concerned about Wrenpaw's wellbeing as Shrikepaw was. Well, probably more concerned, but Shrikepaw could be worried and amused by his sullen gaze at the same time, right? **✿❀ Daisyfire ❀✿** She cast her eyes towards the other apprentice, raising a brow briefly before returning her gaze to Wrenpaw. “If you’re up for it, Wrenpaw, perhaps the three of us can go out for a bit of training? I won’t force you, but it might be better than wallowing,” she offered, trying to keep her voice compassionate, but firm. She couldn’t be sure how Wrenpaw felt, but for Daisyfire it was a perpetual internal battle between being tired of cats acting like she was a fragile kitten, and wishing cats would be a bit more compassionate on days just leaving the nest was hard. Finding that balance was a bit difficult though. He glanced towards Shrikepaw. “It also depends, of course, whether or not you’ve got plans for today?” She/He + Single + Bi + Warrior + App: Wrenpaw

IF YOU DON'T GO OUTSIDE WELL NOTHING'S GONNA HAPPEN ― Wrenpaw wouldn't have wished it on anybody - the taint of his soul, souring taste of his presence, nor the decaying feeling of which his legs had adopted throughout his life, a heavy weight on his back, and a thorn in his side. It was a torture only known by the most unfortunate cats, and as much as the society of Moon and Sun attempted to paint such situations in a good light, he did not view it as such. His legs were not something to be praised - as uncontrollable as it is, it has absolutely ruined his life.
Were there truly any differences in terms of empathy and anger, when looking at Wren and somebody able-bodied, though? To say that cats were level tempered and kind, strong and healthy at all moments of the day, would have been incorrect. Beneath everyone's surface is an unrivaled, dangerously high temper, which few knew. Wren is one of the few.
Wrenpaw turned his head and peered over his shoulder.
The sudden crashing of foliage, and sound of pawpads hitting the ground was startling. As his eaes frew forth he began to scan the area, sweating bullers. While his expression, flaccid and still, didn't show it, his heart was racing. He could feel each individual beat in his throat.
And then he finally noticed the two cats.
Pupils trembling ever so slightly between the pair, Wrenpaw attempted to keep up with the incoherent rambling which soon met his ears. He glanced at his 'pretty' hollow at Shrikepaw's remark, then looked at said cat at Daisyfire's request, before switching to the hollow again in a repeated manner.
Eventually, though, his eyes finally found a place to rest - his mentor. "Training? But," his words dissipated into a fit of worried stuttering. "How will I be able to do anything fun, with my legs and all? I can't fight like the others, or hunt, and it's not like mentors are taught some secret moves for cats like me...Unless, you are?"

**✿❀ Daisyfire ❀✿** Daisyfire nodded, not necessarily in agreement but in understanding of Wrenpaw’s confusion and hesitance. “Our issues may be different, but all the same I know what it’s like to need to do things differently than most other warriors. If you’re willing to give it a go, Wrenpaw, I think we can figure out something that works out for you, too.” That would be easier said than done - Daisyfire at least had access to all of her joints. As much as they ached, she could still move them. Even if she didn’t want to. For Wrenpaw, his hind legs were left entirely inoperable. But that still left his front half. “We just have to gauge where you’re at, of course, and I’ll admit that it probably won’t be easy. Still, I spent my kithood watching cats adapt to all sorts of issues. I’m pretty confident that there will be some way to do things for you. That’s the advantage I have over other mentors.” She purred, pleased with herself for the statement. She would be sure that her apprentice could live his life undeterred by its challenges. While his hind legs might not make him as fast as other cats and meant he couldn’t jump, that just meant that they’d have to prioritize his forelegs and jaw. They’d just have to find a new way to hunt. More than anything, a tactic Daisyfire was prepared for was that he’d have to teach Wrenpaw to be more aware of his every move in combat than most cats were. He’d have to strike quickly as possible, and every move would be that much more critical. But Daisyfire was still alive. She was sure it’d be possible. She/He + Single + Bi + Warrior + App: Wrenpaw

IF YOU DON'T GO OUTSIDE WELL NOTHING'S GONNA HAPPEN ― Though his heart was beating like a hummingbird's wings, Wrenpaw knew he was going to get in trouble for this - for refusing the offer - if not by his superiors, then Daisyfire himself. But thank the Stars, any punishment was worth an ounce of attention - happiness that would result from it, as negative as it is. Yet the apprentice still avoided the thought of defying his mentor. Even with their lack of interactions as of late, Wren had long since adopted a sense of familiarity with the cat. If not for her authority, it was their connection.
Grumbling to himself, Wrenpaw settled down in his makeshift hole, laying on his back as he reached out a paw to probe the warrior. "What am I supposed to do? Bite your nose?" Possibly, but the idea of such was not prefered. So, hopelessly, the tom wound his gaze towards the sky, kicking the air - well, the closest he could get to. Maybe "kneading" was a better word. "That won't work! Any cat would be able to dodge it, and, like, grab my tail, or something! Oh Stars, not my tail!"
All in all, Wren was a culmination of many different emotions, each being more confusing than the next. He'd never imagined himself causing such a fit over physical activity - it was embarrassing, really, but the thought still haunted him - breathless, defenseless, and at the mercy of another clancat. He'd never live that down! If bickering didn't kill Wrenpaw, lack of a clear mind would!
"Okay, okay..." The spotted tom spoke up after a moment of Daisy's spiel. "Fine. I can try. But if it doesn't work out, I'm never training again! I'll just sleep for the rest of my life, even when I'm old and ugly. Sleep forever, and ever, and ever!"

**✿❀ Daisyfire ❀✿** She tried not to make her amusement too obvious at Wrenpaw’s concession - namely his threat to sleep for eternity. Sure, there had been a brief moment of heartache when he’d initially dismissed the idea as bad and miserable, but his recovery… it was swift. His body could be, too - just not in the way of other warriors. But that was the whole point, wasn’t it? “And if you do sleep forever, how will anything fun at all happen for you?,” she asked in a gentle tease. She prodded his shoulder gently, but with playfulness still on her face. “The training levee is a bit far from here, so we’ll find an empty space that’s closer by. Foxlily’s herbs won’t work for long if I have to cross the full territory and train you, after all. You’ll have to drag me back to camp, or leave me to the wetlands for eternity.”She dropped dramatically at those last words. Adopting a position similar to a feigned death, rolling onto her back, and opening one eye just slightly so that she could measure Wrenpaw’s reaction. She rolled back around so that she could stand back up for them to head out for training. “I just want you to know, Wrenpaw… I will never think less of you if you think it’s too much. I believe full heartedly that you can do this, in a way we’ll find just for you. I really believe that - but I don’t want you to feel like you’ll let anybody down for choices you make so that you can live a fulfilled life, okay? I’m grateful you’re giving me a chance.”She smiled playfully again, swiping a paw out at Wrenpaw - a playful action, but also one to see if he’d stop her paw at all with his forepaws, and if not she’d barely graze his whiskers - before getting up properly. IF YOU DON'T GO OUTSIDE WELL NOTHING'S GONNA HAPPEN ― He smiled small and waved his paw, "It wouldn't be much different, then. At least I will be able to dream - and in those dreams, I will be able to walk..." he trailed off, looking on at his paws as they shuffled through the air, before focusing on the tabby again, the blacks of his eyes expanding ever so slightly - they almost had a mind of their own, expressing emotions that he himself were not aware of. "I'd rather not drag a boulder of a cat back to camp. You underestimate how heavy some of us are."
As Daisyfire rested beside the apprentice, Wrenpaw relaxed his neck. When he met his gaze, one eye meeting two, he truly felt as if he was safe. And, as if welcoming the feeling, he sighed softly, suppressing the twisting in his gut for only a moment before Daisy was back on her feet again. Embarrassment flushed his ears, then. Wren wasn't exactly sure what to say, so when the warrior bumbled out a sudden reassurance, he was relieved that he didn't have to break the silence.
"Thank you, and okay," was all he could muster. Wrenpaw was simply hoping that, while Daisyfire was here, this wouldn't end badly. He didn't have all that many backup plans, or smart-sounding words to use as a safety net. Not like this. "I appreciate it - really. Erm, just go easy on me."
Hoisting himself up after his mentor, it took a moment for him to swipe back, 2 quick bats being sent his way as Wrenpaw giggled. "Lead the way, oldie!" With that, he made his way to entrance. It was far too early for anyone in camp to be up - and he was glad for it.

**✿❀ Daisyfire ❀✿** She meowed playfully. “I should be the one telling you that! Take it easy on an old cat, you’ll send me to the elder’s den at this rate,” he laughed, heading towards the camp entrance and then out into the forest. He’d swiped back at her - that was a good sign. His reflexes weren’t quite where Daisyfire would like them to be at ten moons of age, but there was a learning curve, wasn’t there? Daisyfire was his mentor. He’d figure it out. Dutifully and true to his word, he guided Wrenpaw to a nearby little clearing in the forest. Not as open as a cat might ideally pick, but it had enough space for the two of them. After all, Daisyfire was not a very big cat. Sitting patiently, she curled her tail around herself and gave a little wave to Wrenpaw. “Alright Little Wren,” he began, the habit of nicknames made especially bad with his affection for the apprentice, “I’ve got a simple question for you. How fast can you move yourself?” She had an idea, of course, but it was important to find out where Wrenpaw’s comfort levels were. Their training could change considerably depending on how quickly Wrenpaw was comfortable moving himself, after all. Different speeds had different needs in combat, and different ways to offset their weaknesses. Always critical, but more so for Wrenpaw. Daisyfire’s brain worked diligently, sorting out possibilities and meticulously planning as he patiently awaited his apprentice’s response. She/He + Single + Bi + Warrior + App: Wrenpaw
