Mosspaw looked up at Lionshine, surprised to see her as the first cat that approached them. They were pretty much convinced that Rosepaw or Mistypaw would be first, maybe even Pansystar. They seemed more like the type to be into this kinda thing. Then again, Mosspaw didn't know Lionshine all that well anyway. Flowers could be his favorite thing in the world and Mosspaw would never know it.

As she spoke, Mosspaw recognized that their first conclusion about the warrior had been more accurate. Well, cool. It'd be fun to teach a warrior something for a change. "Well, it's actually pretty easy. Here, let me show you."

They reached out and grabbed a pawfull of dandelions; they were the easiest to weave thanks to their long flexible stems. "You take the first one and leave it straight horizontally. Then, you put the next flower perpendicular to the first one. Like a cross.." The feline demonstrated as they spoke. "This next part is kinda tricky, so it's probably better if you just watch." They took the bottom of the stem of the vertical flower and brought it up to the top, looping the stem around the dandelion. They were left with the horizontal dandelion the same, and the vertical one was now positioned so that its stem was keeping it in line with the one before it. Their stems were stacked on top of eachother.

"Then you just keep going like that, The trick is to not let your claws nip the stem, and to pick dandelions with long stems. That way, the new dandelion's stem will end before the previous one's. Though,I guess some shorter ones are fine too here and there." Mosspaw quickly continued their chain, their motion as fluid as the Great River that separated the two Clans.

"I think I've been making these since I was a kit. My mom showed me how."

Mosspaw's whiskers twitched as they looked at Lionshine's crown. Or, what was supposed to be a crown. It didn't seem like Lionshine took their advice about watching his claws around the flower stems. So long as it fits her head.

But Mosspaw couldn't be too hard on her. They couldn't imagine what their first crown had looked like. Their mother probably had the fakest smile plastered on her maw as she awkwardly pretended it was the coolest crown she had ever seen. Moms were just cool like that. Mosspaw couldn't imagine being able to fake it that well, but it was something you had to do to spare little kits feelings.

They nodded in agreement when Lionshine commented about their experience with their mother. "Yeah, it was. You should've seen her. She could weave them fast as lightning." There was a chuckle in their voice as they spoke.

"Oh, I don't know. Clover flowers are the sturdiest and they last the longest, but they're not as pretty as other flowers. And they're not as tall as dandelions. But I like to mix them too. Dandelions make a good base, and then you can add little violets for a pop of color." Realizing how dorky they must sound, Mosspaw felt obliged to add: "Or, yknow, whatever."

The tom had been watching with some amusement at the rows of picked flowers meant for a flower crown lesson from Mosspaw, that was something he had not expected but wouldn't much commentary about what business was it of his everyone had different likes and dislikes and nothing belonged to anyone. Therefore he moved closer to get a better look at the arrangements in case at some point he wanted to learn as well. He might be an older warrior but that did not mean he couldn't learn new things should he choose to, he eyes the brighter flowers hearing that you needed a light touch in order to weave them the lithe tom tilted his head somewhat, he wanted something that he would enjoy but also something he could put together without much help if any and so he sat near by listening to the instruction and watched as the young tom made a crown efficiently putting it together.

The toms orange eyes scanned the flowers over once before he looked up at the younger one of the small group, "Yes I believe I do." he replied as he picked a couple of different flowers looking at the stems and lengths carefully avoiding crushing the stems with his paws "I watched how to do so, though I hope I still have the ability to do them after all these moons it was the perfect thing to gift to others to make them happy. It was successful for moral." he chuckled. He kept his claws out at this minimum as he had chosen daises as the main flower for his creation as he began to shift the stems together he began to take his time not wanting to rush it otherwise there would be one tangled mess of nothing instead of a crown. His breathing evened out more as it began to calm him having something to focus on.

She did her best, but Lionshine couldn’t repress his laughter after hearing Mosspaw’s comment. “Those two things don’t have to contradict one another, every cat has multiple facets to themselves,” he commented idly, briefly taking a pause in his own flower crown making efforts to see how the other two cats worked on theirs. Mosspaw, though nearly a warrior, was still young. They had a lot to learn - not just about being a warrior, but about life itself. He wondered, briefly, how many facets of themselves they still had to learn. He could see, in that moment, why they might act the way they did - at least about the flower crowns. “I’m not tough, and yet after all these moons I’m just now learning how to do this. Life is funny like that, huh?”
